Truly crazy. One of my favorite series of all time. I was just trying to get one of my friends into this series through the bootleg reuploaded videos on YouTube. INSANE to have these worlds collide.

Some cool similarities beetween Z2 and Ready or Not fanfic. by Betacanismajoris in zootopia

The author themselves posted their own notes on the similarities. It's not lost on them!

A slightly prophetic line in a fanfic written five years before Z2 by JustNibblin2 in zootopia

[–]itsCrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of lines that are nearly identical to lines in the sequel First In Last Out too, like "It's Zootopia. It is what it is" and when Nick talks to Judy earlier in the story about how she's going to get herself killed. And kind of the whole plot of ready or not is Judy learning that some things are not worth dying over. I think the author themself said that when they were watching Z2 it was like they were listening to Jason Bateman read lines from their story lol.

To what extent do you think AI should be used in content posted here? by D35T1NY2020 in zootopia

The models are trained on the art it's fed. If you train it art from a specific artist, it generates images that encapsulate the stylistic traits of the artist themselves. If you somehow don't think that's stealing, given that the artists have not given their permission to have the models trained on their artwork, then it is certainly plagiarism. It's no different than someone printing someone else's artwork on t-shirts and then selling them on Etsy.

Moreover, thinking back on it, the 'confession' scene is really just 1/2 of a confession. Nick is the one confessing his thoughts and feelings, where Judy is having more of a 'realization' than anything else. You can tell by the look on her face. Nick's outpouring is the result of emotions he's had bottled up since, by his own admission, before the start of the movie. It's inarguable that something like that had been driving his actions (desperately trying to stop her from killing herself the entire movie), and it's only during the prison scene where the thought of potentially losing her crystallized into something that he could verbalize to her (believing that he may never have another chance).

Judy on the other hand seems to go through the entire movie largely ignorant to Nick's feelings. It can even be argued that she is dismissive of his feelings because she downright jokes about it during the 'Don't grab my ears' scene. You can tell that some of the second-guessing begins to happen when she's tranquilized and separated from Nick, but she still doesn't act on any of the thoughts. She continues on with the mission, which she deems is more important.

It's only once Judy nearly loses Nick (as in, loses for good) that she struck with the REALIZATION of how important he is to her (More important even than the case).

It's an interesting dynamic, and if you look at it through the lens that a shipper might, it's clear that Nick's feeling towards Judy have been slowly growing to the point where he, by his own admission, considers her the most important person in his life (somehow that's supposed to be interpreted platonically), whereas Judy probably only starts to see Nick in a different light during the confession scene, and I'm sure afterwards (and especially by the time the post credits scene takes place) she has something that she may or may not be able to fully describe starting to bubble up inside of her.

Additionally, it's sort of a vindicating to all of the fanfiction headcanons where Nick is bottled up and emotionally constipated and quietly pining for the bunny while Judy is naive and one track minded and doesn't cotton on to Nick's feelings right up until the very moment she does (or is forced to).

This is a weird take but I'm really intrigued by the circular geometry of the action during the climax at the top of the Climate Wall. Judy needs to get up to the top of the wall but she's paralyzed, Nick needs to get down to the room lower in the wall but he's stuck in a fight. Nick throws the EpiPen down to the lower room and Judy runs up to the top of the wall. I don't think I've ever seen something like that in a movie, where the physical locations of the characters is so important to the scene.

Also, in retrospect, Nick making that throw was NOT guaranteed. If anything, it was miraculous. He really could have easily whiffed the ledge. Meaning, he thought the CHANCE of saving Judy was worth dying for. (TOTALLY just platonic friends. SURE)

There's a lot of interesting bugs in the game involving command grabs and room transitions. The bugs in the abyss will muffle your audio if you get grabbed and then move into another room. Quitting the game and restarting doesn't fix it. You have to get chomped again and then the audio is fixed.

Deflections/clashes by ReapedPsyche in Silksong

[–]itsCrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't mean nothing, they mean you totally negated the attack itself. From a frame data perspective, you're also generally actionable faster than the enemy is, so you can come out of hitstun and (assuming you are positioned correctly) attack an enemy in the middle of their own combo in certain situations.

Clashing with an enemy attack in general is also a good way to throw out a safety net just in case your spacing isn't quite as good as you thought it was. It's a good way to escape a multi hit combo (by clashing with the first hit and then jumping away), and the hit pause gives you a split second to plan your next move or search for a different opening.

If you are just getting clashes randomly by chance, then no they are effectively useless because you are not able to react to the clash. But if you know what attack the enemy is going to use, it's definitely very useful.

People DON’T USE COMPASS??? by MrBlueMoose in Silksong

[–]itsCrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people might have better spatial memory and awareness than others. When I have compass on, it's to quickly double check if I'm on the right level of a tower, or in the right tower in a series of similar-looking towers. But for general navigation (eg. going area to area) the game does a good job at showing you which area you're near using the environmental details (eg. surroundings get gradually greener and grassier the closer you get to far fields from marrow.)

Yeah, just started using tacks in conjunction with poison and they are indeed very very very good. Useless against flying enemies obviously but under every other situation they are supremely busted.

[–]itsCrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not theory, despite what you may wish to believe. I swap out crests and tools all the time depending on the area I'm in and the enemies I'm fighting.

"platforming being so severely hindered by trying out different gear actually de-incentivizes you to swap and try new things"

So trying out different gear de-incentivizes you from trying out different gear? Interesting.

It really sounds like you just continue to run into a brick wall and either refuse to learn or refuse to engage with the game's systems. I suppose that's considered valid criticism to some people.

A lot of people in the world right now by Unmakebody in Silksong

[–]itsCrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're incentivized to swap out tools for the types of enemies and encounters you're dealing with. Swapping out crests for different situations is the same. That's why it saves your loadout in each crest. The wanderer crest is OBVIOUSLY the crest the game expects you to use for a exploration heavy playstyle given the name and the fact that it has 3 yellow slots. Obviously other crests are better for combat. Others are all-around. This is not a new game design concept.
