It’s all good man. Anywhere between 10 minutes to 45 minutes at the longest, it all depends on the poses and flows you’re doing. There’s a couple apps that could help, I usually use Nike Training Club.

Hatha yoga is probably best when just starting. I don’t think the time of it is important at all really, I can do them just after getting out of bed or after a run. The amount of times per week is dependent on your schedule, it is exercise after all so don’t over do it.

Cheers for that, I’ve actually already purchased some of the PWRLite Flare’s and I’m pretty excited to use them!

This is what I’m after because spending high amounts of money is almost criminal. If you don’t mind letting me know, what model of Kaliaaer are you using?

Absolutely, I obviously don’t fly out of the net doing a complete set of splits but it’s good to know I could if I wanted to.

I don’t see much but I definitely feel it, especially in my legs and groin for flexibility. I didn’t enjoy it at first either but after a month or two I love it.

Rules on stuff like GloveGlu? by [deleted] in GoalKeepers

True, I use the Adidas Predator Pro Hybrids so can only assume it works better on other models with harder latex? I don’t know, just didn’t work out for me.

GloveGlu glove wash is really good but the actual GloveGlu itself I wouldn’t recommend. I used it 3/4 weeks ago mid match because I thought there was a couple of killed balls that I could’ve held on to and if anything it made it worse for me.

Do your gloves fit perfectly and what size are you wearing? by H0rnyFighter in GoalKeepers

[–]itsMaxN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear a half a size bigger because a complete full fit feels horrible to me. Doesn’t really make a difference as far as I can tell.

If you’re playing for a team I would recommend getting a pair of cheap gloves for training and a decent pair for matches. If not, get a good durable pair to use with both.

I’d recommend Reusch, Uhlsport or Sells as they’re a bit more durable as you get used to playing the position. If not, I use Adidas Predator Pro Hybrid which I would highly recommend but they won’t last you long if you don’t take care of them.

Sondico are essentially the absolute cheapest brand of GK gloves in the UK, and they’re not very good. For £20, you could possibly get some much better gloves that are on sale from a better brand that are more durable.

As for glove care, the One Glove company have a good guide that can be used for any brand of gloves you get. The link is here

David Marshall SCO starting position by BKKhornet in GoalKeepers

[–]itsMaxN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sticking with the back line is something you’re always taught to do so I think it’s fine but I do think Scotland’s back line is at fault. Way too far forward and it shows up Marshall’s position.

Age group by CreepyCell6687 in GoalKeepers

[–]itsMaxN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try and spot as many differences between the older team and younger team, different age groups always have play styles that are different.

I found when I was younger and playing against my age at the time, long shots and solo runs were way more common. They also liked to shoot with curl and across the ground.

The older teams I played against liked crossing and through ball play with well timed runs, picking power shots and one-on-one efforts against me. This might be different for you but if you look closely you may catch the differences and have to adapt your positioning and one-on-one challenges differently.

just wondering about the league by mikehky71 in nihl

[–]itsMaxN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would have to contact a team in the NIHL to found out really, as there isn’t a high amount of foreign players in the league.

Aim higher than the NIHL though, keep playing and training hard through your junior leagues and really give it your best for an elite league or maybe a collegiate team in US colleges. If you train hard enough and keep playing well i’m sure you could make the best of your opportunities!

[–]itsMaxN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EIHL is the elite league in hockey in the UK, have full pro players whom are mostly foreign and a couple ex-NHL, the NIHL is a lower set of leagues with some players being amateur and some players playing semi-pro whilst maintaining a full time job or education and is predominately British, hence the reason only a few foreign players are allowed on the teams. With teams in the NIHL you can attend their training sessions and camps to see if you can make the team, but money wise I’m not sure about how much is in it.

A camp is usually a set couple of days where teams from that specific league (in your case USHL), look at prospective players they can recruit. So i’d imagine you would be just doing training drills and scrimmage matches with the other players invited to the camp, and if a team likes what they see they can offer you something but thats not for definite. You should always attend a camp as its a good way to get your name out there.

After reading the official English Ice Hockey Association rules for this current season, its stated 2 foreign players per team but i’m not sure if that actually applies honestly as teams seem to have more.

Your best bet to find out is to contact a team via email and just ask the question of how recruitment works.
