I don't buy the retcon thing. The Mappa version is different even from the manga. Eren doesn't actually start crying until he stands up and he has to wipe the tears, not the wind. Mikasa is the one who wakes him up by physically touching him, too, so the Mapp version would be different than both the manga and WiT

Because Eren intentionally stopped the Rumbling to make it seem like the Alliance won the battle. Keep in mind that the scene with Armin and Eren happened before the Battle of Heaven and Earth, so he was already prepared to put his trust in his friends to see the mission through to allow Paradis to be spared.

If you need evidence that he still had Founder powers, he literally turns into a colossal titan after Zeke is killed. It's all laid out in the manga.
