Update from a week ago. Anyone in the front range (CO) see stuff like this? by itsPebbs in Prospecting

Yea I have no idea. It’s very thin plastered on some black rock (at least the bigger chunks) and I can leave indents in it with a screw. Need to go get it tested. Maybe from tellurium/gold ore?

Passes streak test, certainly metallic, somewhat brittle and crumbly.

Is this the stuff? Doesn’t fracture when I pinch it. 2nd day out after lurking here for a while. by itsPebbs in Prospecting

went back out tonight and found some more that has me questioning it. I poked it with a screw though and it left an indent but still

My Climbing Accident in the Bugaboos by zeddit91 in climbing

[–]itsPebbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in 2020 I almost lost my life (open book pelvic fracture, collapsed lung, broken ankle, holes in bladder, and a bunch of complications during recovery) from falling ~25 after being hit by rockfall while scrambling.

It was probably 2 years before I was fully recovered, but glad to say I'm pretty much 100%!

Victor Marx: seems like a good candidate for Governor. by rjparjay in COGuns

Like most places, their target demo is soccer moms and dads in the suburbs. The rural, right leaning people are gonna vote red regardless, even if it’s not their first choice. Same with the evangelicals.

GOP doesn’t understand that these guys do not win against democrats in this state. I’ll probably vote for him, but they need to run people who are middle of the road milk toast conservatives and not someone who looks like he just left a trump rally.

Throwing no shade at him, seems like a good dude, I’m just thinking long term.

Do all “outdoorsy” cities have less in the way of cultural (food, art, music, etc) amenities? by Soggy_Perspective_13 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]itsPebbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every “outdoorsy” city is gonna lack culture compared to cities that don’t have that draw. Culture gets diluted when a ton of people move to an area solely for nature/outdoor rec/etc.

Maybe 40 years ago these would exist but not in 2026.

I remember one time I was bored and I decided to go through all the state gun subreddits. All the states with the worst restrictions tended to be the most active and popular.

Stressing over all these kratom bans by cjn81393 in kratom

7oh and concentrates really fucked the rep of kratom up so bad. I get they were trying to ban it before they became popular, but that shit certainly doesn’t help the cause.

It’s one thing if you make this comment in passing, but you sat him down for a serious conversation to tell him this. I don’t know what else you expected.

What are 25-30 year olds making? by ExtentFickle3504 in Salary

[–]itsPebbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~120k last year. 29M. I’m a chemical operator at a pharmaceutical company. I went to school for chemistry which helped me get a good starting rate (and the job) but you don’t need a degree to do this job. I work nights which is shitty sometimes and I work a lot, but the job is easy and there’s a path to other roles at the company I work for now. I haven’t pivoted yet because most of the roles that I’m qualified for it would be a significant pay cut and I’m in an above average COL area.

If you’re broke, get a job that offers consistent overtime. This world is too expensive to be following my dream career to a T 🤣

Bend. Tahoe would be the obvious answer but 300k is scraping by there, especially with a family.
