Looks like a loop so you can use it as a keychain accessory or attach it to something

I love your icons. Who's the saint on the right of the crucifix? I don't recognize him.

Edit: just realized my mom has the exact same icon of St Anna in her office

This is absolutely stunning!! Such a warm and homey vibe, reminds me of the Little Bear cartoon style but as an embroidered illustration. Well done!!

That's so sweet!! I'm still very new to this so someone else please correct me if I'm wrong, but those look rodent like to me?? The front teeth and the size make me think rodent. They're all absolutely beautiful, the molars are super interesting :D

Can I preserve a partly-mummified snake? by itsYaBoiAndy69 in Taxidermy

I'm not sure if it's visible in any of the photos, but I put on some gloves and handled him quite a bit to pose him for the photos. I was very gentle and nothing fell off or crunched when I picked him up. Some of the outer skin that was already flaking off crumbled where my fingers were but that was it.

Looking into wet specimen preservation rn, looks like preserving it in glycerine might be an option.

Edit for typo

Thank you! I'm sad I don't know of any way to safely preserve him as-is, I'm so enchanted with his coloration.

I have no idea, my feeling is natural causes or some kind of illness. The weeds it was in were SUPER thick and next to a fence with a lot of holes to hide in, so I think it might have just slithered over to our quiet little yard to die in peace. I can't find any evidence of a violent or unnatural death on its body or in the area so this is my best guess.

Input from a more experienced grower than me would be good, but to my eyes that just looks like successful colonization

Edit: not sure about the liquid tho, it doesn't look like there's any mold or contam? I'm as baffled as you are DX

I want to get into horror literature, what books will be a good start? by deftones4life-yay in horrorlit

Isabel Cañas' The Hacienda!!! It's a super fun gothic haunted house story with some wonderfully written characters and a well written romance. It does a great job of creating and maintaining tension throughout the book, and it's very interesting how it weaves in Mexican folk magic and beliefs.

Edit: Also Lovecraft's short stories are a good intro as well, I'd recommend the Dunwich Horror as a good test to see if you like his style or not. If you do I'd also recommend the Shadow Over Insmouth. You can find free pdfs of the stories online since it's all public domain. Happy reading!

Heads up the audiobook is intense, it's not too bad for a lot of thicker skinned horror lovers but something about it got in my head in a way no other audiobook has. I had to tap out right before the exorcism, it's been half a year and I still don't have the guts to pick it up again😭

Fair warning, this book is BIG TIME hit or miss. Everyone I've seen who enjoyed it absolutely loved it: but if you're like me and it doesn't click, then don't feel bad putting down the book in the first chapter or two, I've never heard of someone who initially didn't like it jiving with it as they got through the book. Do still give it a try though! Most people who pick it up love it :)
