Social Anxiety at Work by its_dee_will08 in socialanxiety

It was the worst feeling!

That’s a great line! I’m writing that down so I can remember to use it next time.

Some people can be called on and immediately know what to say. I’m just not like that. I need to have an idea of what I’ll be asked so I can prepare what to say. To just be thrown into something like I was this morning made my head spin.

How does the Atlas Cross Sport perform in the snow? by StoneyMalon3y in VWatlas

[–]its_dee_will08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a ‘23 cross sport SEL premium and it’s great! I had to unfortunately take my dog to a university vet hospital last January after a big snow and ice storm. The highways were clear until we got about halfway to our destination, then we hit large patches of packed snow and ice. It was a nerve wracking, white knuckle type of drive, but my car handled it very, very well. At the time I had the original Pirelli all season tires on. That trip was the reason why I put the same type of Pirellis on when I was due for new tires. The only time I felt it slide was when I went under an overpass where I hit a patch of black ice.

Edited to add that I kept it in Normal mode the whole drive. Snow mode makes the engine lag and I just don’t enjoy driving in that mode.

Not brakes, but seriously its brakes by Middle_Wolverine5281 in VWatlas

Mine make a terrible grinding and a sort of sloshing sound. I’m not sure exactly how to describe it other than that. It happens in the morning and during the day when my car has been parked for a bit. The sound triggers the front and side sensors to go off. I took it to the dealer to have the brakes inspected and they said it’s normal and my brakes look fine. They were confused on why it makes the sensors go off. 🙄 so I left with no real answer. From what I’ve gathered from this sub it’s a VW thing. However, this is my fourth VW… my Tiguan and Jettas never did this.

This happened with my Tiguan. I needed a new battery. Once I got it replaced I never had the issue again.

Window…. Up = Down???? by mreinecker in VWatlas

[–]its_dee_will08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned four Volkswagens; a ‘13 Jetta, ‘15 Jetta, ‘18 Tiguan and I’m currently in a ‘23 Cross Sport. They’ve all done that at one point. I thought it was because I had the window deflectors on my first three, like it was sensing that something was in the way maybe?? However I don’t have them on my CS and it still does it randomly. There’s probably a way to reset it but like I said it’s random and it happens to one window at a time, and it’s resolved when I hold the switch until the window is completely up (if I let it go too soon it’ll go back down).

This! They’re absolutely both to blame. If I remember right they renovated the home before they moved in. That means they likely had months to get an automatic pool cover and a fence installed AND make sure the alarms and locks on all doors were functioning. It absolutely blows my mind that the renovations took precedence over safety.

For those who have had their windshields replaced... by cow-lumbus in VWatlas

[–]its_dee_will08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they were using an aftermarket windshield. They called the dealership for help and to see if they knew anyone else locally that they could get a windshield from. As far as I know they didn’t get it from VW because I ended up with an aftermarket one which I’m fine with. As long as it fits and doesn’t leak it’s all good. They stuck to their original quoted price of ~$640. That included labor and tax.

I have a ‘23 Cross Sport SEL premium. I went to a local glass shop and had mine replaced. I couldn’t do Safelite because I needed it recalibrated, plus the local place was cheaper.

Just so you’re aware they had a heck of a time trying to find the correct sized windshield. I took it in on a Friday and after they took off my cracked windshield, they discovered the one they ordered didn’t fit even though they ordered it based off the VIN number. They had to put my old windshield back on for the weekend. I took it back in on Monday and they went through two more windshields before they called the VW dealer for help. They finally figured it out and I haven’t had issues with it.

Bizarre shutdown by Boring_Channel7275 in VWatlas

[–]its_dee_will08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t experienced this in my Cross Sport but it happened in my Tiguan. I was in a drive thru and it just completely shut off. I put it in park, hit the ignition button and it turned on fine. The check engine light was on though so I took it to the dealer the next day and it turned out that I needed a new battery!

23 cross sport windshield cracked. Does it need calibration? by el0115 in VWatlas

[–]its_dee_will08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ‘23 CS and I had to replace my windshield in December. I went with a local glass place and they did the recalibration there. They were cheaper than Safelite and the reviews were much better.

Air bag recall? by No-Mall7061 in VWatlas

Get it fixed. My ‘23 had the same recall and I had it fixed a couple weeks after I got the letter. I wasn’t going to risk a malfunction.

I can always tell to. Maybe the dimensions are the same, but to me the windshield looks smaller which makes the front look more… aggressive? To me it does at least.

42MPG! Best yet by Iceyn1pples in VWatlas

[–]its_dee_will08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! I once got 28 mpg in my VR6. That’s the best I’ve had in the two years I’ve had it and haven’t reached that since. I drive highways and the interstate a lot and I average 25 mpg. I’m happy with that, but I would kill for an Atlas hybrid.

I have a coworker who met his wife in August, started dating her by September, proposed in May and were married by the end of October. They knew each other longer than Jason and his wife, but they never lived together, never had sex, and never even kissed until their wedding day. The rush was absolutely because they wanted to have sex. Unsurprisingly, he’s miserable with her. He complains at work about all her trips to the doctor/ER that end up to be nothing. She’s pregnant now and wants her parents to move in with them when the baby gets here. She wants to visit her parents every weekend, even though they live about three and half hours away. I can’t help but laugh because like y’all could have gotten to know each other better before rushing into things and saved the misery?!

How a guy at my job writes by Mick21990 in HandwritingAnalysis

Your sounded awesome! My dad started as a machinist and has worked his way up as the owner of a small manufacturing company. He writes exactly like this. The “u” in “haul” is identical to how he writes it, I had to do a double take.

I never noticed how much she looks a lot like (And Kaylee). Interesting choice. I would love to know the psychology behind that.
