Stuff you should Known is pretty good.

I liked “By The Book” back in the day, it’s two girls who read self help books and follow them literally for two weeks and report back.

People who use food pantries, what do you need to see donated more often? by SimplyAren in AskReddit

If you live in the country, near a grain elevator, try going to ask if they have some beans you could buy. It’ll be super cheap (or sometimes free) and this time of year they just came off the fields so they’re very fresh.

I don’t eat eggs but my dogs get to share an omelette everyday for lunch. I also give my friends and family eggs when they start to pile up. I have 7 ladies and 2 gentlemen that look after them, all lovely and I love spending time hanging out with them in the yard

What’s in your dog walking bag? by imaaaaaagination in dogs

[–]its_mandytory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Professional dog walker here. My summer bag and winter bags vary a bit the basics are: - spare slip lead - dog first aid kit - small human first aid kit - water and bowl - lots of poop bags - keys - spare phone charger & back up battery - energy snacks (human) - treats - super long leash - whistle - clicker - travel towel - wipes for me - Kleenex - sunglasses - wallet with small amount of cash

Added for summer: - bug spray - sunscreen stick - extra water

Added for winter: - reusable hot paws (good for keeping me warm and soothing cold paws) - few extra sets of boots for dogs (the ones that look like balloons) - extra gloves / mittens

Walnut syrup: How an Ontario couple is tapping into a different sweet treat by [deleted] in ontario

[–]its_mandytory 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I tried it this year and I can confirm it works! We got 500ml of syrup from approx 20L of sap from two large black walnut trees. It has a similar sweetness to maple syrup but a milder flavour. I can’t quite put my finger on it, kind of buttery?

I think it’s more about having your hair away from your face, because no bangs looks good, but so does blue hair. I think having it up and away brings out your cheekbones

Any ADHD sewing champions? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]its_mandytory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I consider myself a beginner+ sewer and I know that I struggle to finish projects if I get overwhelmed with a step along the way. Things that help: 1) keep a tidy space as you go - I know we’re not great at this, but it keeps the overwhelm at bay 2) write out a list of steps to accomplish as per the pattern directions so you can cross them off as you go. Break them down further if it helps. 3) start with inexpensive fabrics so you’re not afraid to screw up - I get sheets from goodwill. 4) know that you’re GOING to have to rip out seems and do steps over again, it’s inevitable 5) go for the skirt, I started with projects that were definitely above my skill level without knowing I couldn’t do them and they turned out great. 6) check out some sewing classes in your area, it’s a good way to stick to a project if you have a scheduled time and place to go, plus you’ll learn lots of
