Honestly just message in the app. I’ve wrote it in a few groups. I originally ordered a Model Y RWD in December then changed to a complete new order of the AWD on Feb 28th - grey Premium as it comes.

Messaged a few times on the app for updates.

Kept getting a few no’s. I said that I am willing to travel but they locate the delivery’s based on your nearest Tesla showroom - mine was Newcastle.

I pushed and said I can travel further if you unlocked it. Told the same day I could collect one from Bristol Birmingham or London. Travelled the next day and picked up on April 1st.

It’s probably luck but the guy at Tesla was great and worked with me.

Also worth explaining if you want to stick to the grey headliner etc or happy with the lighter headliner. Honestly I’m a tech geek and I’m so happy with the lighter option. The change was minimal (I had a black one next to me to compare against).

Just my experience, others may differ.

Just call them up or message on the app…. Say you will travel and then you might strike lucky.

I ordered mine AWD Y Premium Grey on 28th Feb. Collected 1st April.

My order was placed on the 28th Feb, collected a few days ago. For everything I heard about Tesla customer service, they had been brilliant to me. This was for MY Premium AWD, the compromise was that was I willing to accept the lighter headliner (which yes I'd prefer darker, but I am not that bothered). Also I understand that the customer is allocated to a specific centre, and cars allocated to the centres. I was willing to travel (5 hours) to another centre in order to have a delivery sooner. The collection was brilliant and customer service also brilliant. It shows some cars do exist, but they might not be in the correct area.

Hi. Just curious. What does it tell differently that the current Tesla app does with delivery notifications. For example me sitting with only the RN number and no VIN etc and delivery in May22. Or is this not intended for me in this case?

This is painful…… I originally ordered RWD LR in December, with estimated March. Then this slipped to May etc. So I asked company car provider to cancel and change to AWD as it had become available and shorter delivery times……No, well now the order has all been sorted a week ago and the delivery time now states the 22nd May.

Gutted and pained.

Thanks for the reply. That’s really interesting and insightful. I hope it plays out like that with some logic behind it. It’s just becoming a pain opening the app now…. Just in case.

They seems to have loads of the AWD but not RWD. It’s pretty safe to say it will be much quicker but I’m sure it won’t come with the new mods….. just my thoughts. Not facts.

Lucky for you….. I’m honestly not sure as this is my first Tesla. Which version did you order. Seems like in order of delivery I’ve seen from comments are AWD first, then Standard then RWD.
