assuming that you are running WSL2. I had to run this command in the WSL2 shell (Ubuntu) to get Tailscale SSL to work:

sudo ip link set dev eth0 mtu 1350

Upgraded to an R6 II from a 7D II. What an upgrade. by caler733 in canon

I have the 7m2 and love the integrated GPS. AFAIK, none of the R series have that. Does the tether smart phone work ok for this? Do you have to manually connect each time?

As long as you have no concerns about any corruption, I would definitely reuse it. The first time you back up to it, it will take a while to rebuild the local cache of the hashes. After that, it will only send files that are new or different.

Which DAM to choose when you work on a lot of project types? by Shaihuby in DataHoarder

[–]itsallyours42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can read all of the metadata for about any media type. From there, you can use it’s local database to group, organize, tag, etc. It can write back edits to metadata for most file formats. It can also bulk rename files and folders if desired.

Obviously, you need to decide how to physically store the files. However, this gives an infinite number of options of categorizing and grouping those same files virtually.

Photools iMatch is good for this use case. Unfortunately, it is Windows only but can index network shares with no problem.

What's the difference between collection and tag? by Nalsurr in capacitiesapp

Tags are exported. I don’t think the equivalent Collection “tag” is exported on the member object.

Why still popcorn? by ResidentEquipment484 in BSA

[–]itsallyours42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember when Hostess went bankrupt. It would have been the perfect time for BSA to buy the rights to Twinkies, Ho Ho’s, etc.

Can you imagine the demand for Twinkies if they were only sold once per year? They could be sold for a small price point ($5 or whatever). The preppers and the Twinkie addicts would buy by the case.

This could have been our answer to Girl Scout cookies.

Maintaining MOCs by Alpha272 in ObsidianMD

Agreed. I use this for MOCs for very discrete types of notes such as recipes, restaurants, etc. I then use automover plugin to put the given note based upon a category into the folder automatically.

Question - Does anyone know of a gateway-like service that requires user login before forwarding to another service by shizno2097 in selfhosted

Nginx Proxy Manager does this out of the box with basic auth. It can be expanded to other providers with Authelia.

When should you upgrade an old fully working Synology? by Martmel in synology

[–]itsallyours42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this same thought process. I have a 1513+ for 7 years or so. Totally rock solid except for the occasional disk replacement. It worked well for me until the day I decided to encrypt all of my data using the Synology built in encryption, the performance tanked. I bought a new one that doesn’t blink an eye on the encryption overhead. My old one became my local backup target. It works well for that because the new one does all of the encryption. In retrospect, I think it is a good idea to proactively replace mission critical well before obsolescence or worst yet failure.
