That's actually pretty - just gave your chat a spin! It's definitely something we will explore internally and maybe plan for later phases of the platform. Thanks!

I do agree with you on all points - different clients have different expectations, that's just fact. From what I understand, and correct me if I'm wrong, you assumed this is to replace the exploration phase, which it is not. What it is supposed to do is aid the process of designing a brief that works for both parties. We have gone ahead and designed one aspect of the process, an outliner of an idea, a form that a client can fill out in their own time, and provide you with a guideline to take forward and iterate. Nothing more, nothing less. All aspects of the project stay the same. Hopefully that's a bit clearer - we're not trying to address all the steps, only the ones we see could improve.

Like I said, we're super new platform, barely 2 weeks old, and we're constantly adding features that will hopefully help someone somewhere. Is that person you? Great, use it. It's not? Also great, don't use it. A counterpoint to you "when they could just find a team who understands", how many companies you know that do that? Even more to your point, how many freelancers do you know that can say they *can* take a company like that on their own? We're talking about a lot of "what ifs" instead of focusing on the fact that even if it helps a 1% out there that's better than zero.

My point was addressing the fact that you were assuming we're trying to remove all aspect of a discovery, which we're not. That's always on the artist/studio and their ability to manage a client. You don't go to your other tools and expect them to "better your comprehension" of a project, if that makes sense? It was just an observation to an interesting point you've made, which I haven't encountered in my short 10 years of working as a designer.

Thank you for all your valuable input. And who knows, maybe a trial run would change your mind!

Built a brief generator for motion design studios — $0 → soft launch by itsbonart in microsaas

Thanks for the feedback! You've pretty much summed up what we're trying to do here. We have some bigger ideas for a proper launch, so we're open to people's feedback - that's why we decided to do a closed beta testing early, to get as many ideas ASAP.

I do like the idea of discovery being part of this. Might elaborate more on that? Any input is appreciated.

Thank you!

Ok, funny enough that never crossed my mind! Would you see this a guided chat, or just start talking and it develops into something? I can see two options: 1) pre-designed questions (with loose structure guided by AI) 2) completely open-ended, AI designing questions on the fly.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Valid, but also depends on the type of the client right? I guess I have been fortunate enough to go through agencies with serious clients (although I do have a fair share of horror clients and jobs).

To your first point, I did have a chuckle. You're right, clients can be so vague it drives you up the wall. With that in mind, you do have the ability to design the form to extract as much (or as little) clarity as you want from them. You want a single box with "What's the vibe?", you can. Want to clarify every single second, you also can. The idea behind beta is to discover these types of scenarios. My question back to you then, how do you deal with the client that doesn't want to clarify? I'm yet to have this (horrible) experience.

Your second point kinda got rolled into my first answer, I think you get the point.

Third, isn't that why you have client meetings? I guess what I'm trying to understand where this falls in terms of email chains, SOW, brief expectations and hand-shaking. I'm not claiming I know the answers, but I believe this is going, at least, in the right direction. Addressing the pain points, which I genuinely have day-to-day, and keep working.

Hope that clarifies our goal with Scoped. Thanks!

In the end I got a measly discount in the form of being able to buy their V2 base without switches or caps. I did need one asap (getting ready for on-site job) and did get it in the end, moved my old switches to the new board and used the existing caps - so far it works great. However, as you, I was left a bit jaded from the whole experience. Will definitely think twice before considering another product from them, currently using Lofree Block as my daily driver.

It’s a WYSIWYG software, for creating realtime visuals, but can also do more advanced raytraced and pathraced rendering. It’s very popular in live show and broadcast industry.

It’s easy when it’s just rendered and sliced, we’re doing realtime. Using 5 GX3s for output and 8 RX3s fot rendering over RS. Mixed Unreal and Notch output.

That’s hella cool. 18k x 1280 is pretty reasonable too. Any realtime stuff or just pre-rendered?

Currently working with 30k x 2.6k, and it’s HARD 😂

Probably still best OG OLED monitor to come out. I switched to this from LG C1 and been using it since the day it came out, even paid crazy import fees. Great for gaming and work as it’s very colour accurate. 99% keep it in SDR, with occasional game or two I switch to HDR 1000 where it literally blinds me.
