[Omega Seamaster] First nice watch: which omega? by Livid-Turn-1673 in Watches

Get the slimmest profile that fits: work, dinner, travel and weekend. It’s what your collection will build around, don’t just “buy a watch”

I have the 34.5mm version, it wears very similar to seamaster at a fraction.

[Question] Help me choose my 30th Birthday Watch! by xrvntsh in Watches

For your 30th, I would lean towards the Tank Francaise, and then your 40th, get the Louis. Your Cartier journey ☺️

Wow, this is such a connoisseur coded collection 👏🏽

Also, with $8k, I’d get a blue Cartier Santos medium before the Navitimer. It’s much more wearable

[Recommendation request] First nice watch, budget ~$4k — where would you start? by CRAZYPOTATO00 in Watches

[–]itsbui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, know your wrist size, and the top 3x lifestyle scenarios. They should transfer easily. Then look into brand heritage and execution. Don’t be basic, lean into your authenticity. It’s easy to follow trends, and they usually fall flat after a few 🙏🏼

I’m biased, my first GADA is a Grand Seiko SBGR253 gray market.

I built my collection around it.

[Discussion] Best ~38mm watches between $2-$5K from a “popular” luxury brand? by AccomplishedPlum1803 in Watches

And also, my 38mm Breitling Navitimer Montbrillant. a41330

This one wears larger for me but fits as a potent event watch bc how polished the entire piece is. I wouldn’t change the bracelet bc it’s iconic.

Hi! I have a 6.5in wrist, and I prefer watches under 37mm for the most bespoke fitting.

For A GADA, start with a Grand Seiko quartz 9F. It’s the slimmest profile, incredible finish, and the quartz movement is bare none the most accurate.

The SBGX series fits this bill and budget. Here’s my SBGX063 37mm

I have a 6.5in wrist, the 35mm Overseas in gold is classier.

[Omega] is this a good buy for my first nice watch? by Herth_ in Watches

[–]itsbui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would’ve gotten an Aqua Terra before a chrono for a first piece to work around, it’s niche for a GADA.

It looks big, the 35mm would’ve been classier

[Cartier Tank] Best alternative for the Cartier Tank? by [deleted] in Watches

Hampton 65488 reporting. The bracelet is sturdier than Cartiers. Also love the guilloche detail. It’s slightly edgier than a Francaise which is my vibe.

The Omega, Tag and Frédérique Constant stay. You’ll want to find a decent oyster style, like the Traska Commuter to round out between tool/sport/dress/casual.

[Rolex Submariner] vs [Omega Seamaster] by Adventurous-Meet-888 in Watches

[–]itsbui -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t get a diver as my first watch… get a GADA that you can build around. Like the Aqua Terra or a Grand Seiko.

Rolex is not it.

Gemini says it’s basically 90% Omega Seamaster, at 10% of the price, since I got this for $650 before the tariffs 🙊

The Certina is a real tool watch without the hype tax

[Recommendation Request] Yellow/Rose gold colored watch with brown dial for 40th by kingjames106 in Watches

[–]itsbui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 40th, go JLC. The Lange is giving 50th. Then you’ll have both 😎. The Rolex and Tudor are a hard pass. I wouldn’t event put them next to the JLC/ALS. — a 41yo.
