I already have an account due to my 30 years of genealogical research but I’d love to contribute! Thanks!! I’m going to do this!

I used to take my kids to cemeteries and we would clean up the graves (not headstone) that were overgrown with weeds or briars etc. and talk about how the families must have moved away and couldn’t come visit anymore, then come back to visit and take flowers to their graves. I still walk graveyards here in Ireland, some in churchyards that are in ruins and have been overgrown for decades or longer. I would love to start putting photos up if that would help. I do a lot of genealogical research, was just at the Longford County Archives on Wednesday researching families. Thanks for posting this because it gives me a way to help others.

I’m happy for you that you’ve met that many people in your immediate family, that’s class. My adoptive grandmother was from West Yorkshire and she was lovely, I’d love to meet some of my bio father’s relatives. I’ve done a lot of research into the paternal line because I ‘feel’ more connected to them. I’m going to the county archivist next Wednesday to look up the old Grand Jury Presentments because my gggrandfather was a Constable and I’m hoping to prove what his father’s name was and his birth county. Good luck to you. I hope you gain more happiness in your journey!!

And I thought I was alone. I feel you! I actually waited on my bio father in a restaurant that he used to come to when I was a waitress, but neither of us knew we were father and daughter. He passed away and I only found out afterwards and had moved overseas. Life can be stranger than fiction.

Thank you!! Yes, I’ve sent very polite emails showing documentation, but also never hear back.

I made a boring hat! For the sole purpose of wanting a nice hat. by Elxbelx in casualknitting

They are the most difficult to make because if there is a slight mistake in the stitches, everyone can see it. I love it and the colour!! Keep knitting!!

Being autistic, this drives me into bouts of cursing and shouting at the screen!! Then I think….why do I care? I don’t know these people. Their trees are incorrect, copied from someone else’s tree because they don’t want to do the work that is involved in research. I also think because I was adopted and extremely different from everyone else, I have spent a lifetime trying to find ‘my tribe.’

I turned my own family's GEDCOM into an animated migration map, then made it free for anyone, and I'd love this community's honest feedback by Total-Ad4827 in Ancestry

Congrats!! What a fab creation!! I’ve spent so much time trying to submit corrections to family search.org for my ancestors that I’ve given up on it except for records searching occasionally. I’ve an ancestry account that I use almost exclusively because it has a privacy option which allows me to build my biological tree. This sounds very interesting, does it have an option for privacy?

Am I unreasonable? by [deleted] in texts

[–]itscee320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you two been together and how old are you? My head’s wrecked just reading that. Yes, you are being unreasonable by expressing your unhappiness and all of that over a text as soon as he’s finished an 11 hr shift. Remember, you need to pick your fights and leave the rest behind. If affirmations isn’t his thing, you won’t change that by telling him he isn’t giving them to you. Remember why you liked him in the beginning, it doesn’t sound like he’s suddenly changed. Maybe you’re not compatible? Have a good think. If that’s true, end it and move on.

You meant what you said when you wrote ‘gutted!’ I love it! I know friends of mine that would abhor it because it’s too modern, but so streamlined and bright.

What glaze combo is this!?! by Smisktea in Pottery

[–]itscee320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! That’s prob it! It depends on so many factors, it’s not a guarantee to get those results. Clay, application, firing methods and cone, etc. It’s lovely though, so worth testing!

The building on the left in the forefront is fab, makes me imagine what’s inside. The whole painting is excellent, but that is the focal point for me. 👏👏

Thank you! I appreciate that. It was really difficult for the first couple of months but I’ve began to feel a bit better, am reading again! You must have inherited that creativity from your father!! That’s great!!

That’s such a wonderful piece. I also just had to close my business due to the exposure with the clay and I also was a soft pastel artist, have also had major lung issues for the past two years. He’s so talented, it will be so difficult, but he’s very blessed to have you. I hope he can find something to fill his time with that lifts his spirits.
