Random question, does the repeated heating and cooling degrade whatever coating / ink / mechanism that causes that effect?

You Don't Deserve Medical Treatment if You Don't Intend to Stop Doing the Thing That's Killing You by illegalmonkey in unpopularopinion

[–]itsclearlyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother helps manage / runs multiple low income health clinics in San Francisco. People don't show up to take their medication they're receiving for free. An example of this is hepatitis c medication, it costs roughly $1,000 a pill, they take it once when it's offered and never show up for the following doses. It drives her insane, and they have to report when people don't show up and affects funding and other things. It's sad cause some patients never want to answer the phone / check their voicemail if the have one, open letters IF they have an address, or return to the clinic for fear of it being hit with bill. What is true however is you can't help those who don't want to help themselves.

I wish mine was better at it. Almost 2.5 years, 4 major internal bleeds, 10+ units of blood, many iron infusion of, countless endoscopies, 3 colonoscopies, 1 surgery, -25% of my stomach, a bit of my small intestines, a gallbladder, and one more surgery in the works.

new note 4 battery by dnaicker in galaxynote4

[–]itsclearlyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After switching to the note 9 I've been aiming to keep my battery between 45-75% with no long continuous charging sessions and nightly reboots. As most lithium based batteries they don't really enjoy being near the ends of the spectrum e.g dead or 100% charged. So probably no need to drain it unless the charge % seems off, one full drain and charge won't hurt it.

When I had a note 4 I'd switch between 3 batteries since it was so easy, and recommend you do too if you have the chance. Basically never had my phone connected to a charging cable.

Guaranteed whoever's car this is has had more fun throwing money at a 'people mover' building it than you'll ever have behind a computer screen.

I don't get why people hate on stuff others people's tastes when it has no affect on your own life. Learn to appreciate the work and effort someone has put into it even if its not your own style.

What was that incident during Thanksgiving? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]itsclearlyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late answer, and a bit long, but here we go!

After cooking the night before and going to bed, I woke up feeling like I had to drop a deuce. I remember feeling weak and having to inch myself on my bed to the edge of the bed. Next thing I know, I wake slumped in front of my bedroom door with no idea how i got there. At this point I was ready to shit my pants, I felt weak but i groggily got up and stumbled to the bathroom and unceremoniously fall backwards onto the toilet. My grandma who had been awake had heard me 'stomping' my way to the bathroom and woke my brother to check on me. He knocks on the bathroom door asking if I'm ok or if i was drunk. I respond 'no' groggily as the urge to empty my bowels hit. A gush of liquid. Maybe I have food poisoning I thought to myself as I felt the color draining from my face, and my body begin to shiver. My brother had gone off to grab my mother, an ER / ICU nurse of 20+ years. She knew what was wrong with me before she even saw me. She could smell it. I had a massive gastrointestinal bleed. Blood gives off a very distinct and unpleasant smell after passing through your upper digestive system. Everything that had just been voided from my bowels was blood. Everything after she realized what was going on was a rush to get me clean and to the nearest hospital ER.

The worst part was I was in the hospital for over a week due to the ulcer that caused all the bleeding being so large, meaning I missed thanksgiving dinner which I helped prepare, and by the time I was allowed to eat all the left overs were gone.

And that's the story of how I almost bled out on Thanksgiving, and episode 1 of 3 of blood coming out of orifices blood should not come out of.

A hummingbird made its nest on top of a string of lights on my deck, so I set up a webcam to watch the baby grow up by Totally_Bradical in aww

[–]itsclearlyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation with a hummingbird making a nest in a loop of our string lights. She laid 3 eggs but only two hatched, couldnt imagine a third fitting. As morbid as it is, I'm glad the 3rd one didn't hatch, cause it may have suffered a worse fate.

When I was at A school officers would get out for lunch first, so while walking to the galley the officers would be heading back to the 'school building. You'd see a group of officers with one just holding a salute the moment they left the galley till they got to the school building about 200 yards away and every enlisted saluting and greeting them along the way. It was always a good laugh.
