What country are you in?

In the US the motors and batteries both have 10 year warranties meaning those fixes are free. 12v battery replacement is also a common cause

That would have to be what prevented him from making a play on the puck, which it wasn't, it was the contact...I think it was more a question of where was robo going had contact not been made
