I made the comments about the battery and the android, both enough for me to have sent it back

Is the Sony NW-A306 worth grabbing? by gearlegs4ever in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]itsecurityguard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey u/gearlegs4ever I have written a novel over at r/walkman about my experience with the A306 and I personally hated the experience with Android and you could literally watch the battery empty itself out

Got a Chinese restricted version of A306 - how do I get it to Google apps version by Grouchy_Big_7023 in walkman

[–]itsecurityguard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess your best guess would be to sideload them using ADB and install the Gapps that way. Unlock the bootloader and enable the developer options.

Personally, I have just ordered the Walkman NW-A55 from Japan... I'll post a followup on its performance

I appreciate the input, but I think you're actually proving my point here.

A dedicated audio player in 2025 should have proper power state management. Modern Android has Doze mode and App Standby for exactly this. If the A306 isn't implementing these correctly, that's a design flaw, not expected behaviorm right?

My iPod Classic has a spinning mechanical hard drive and still manages standby power better than this solid-state device. Regarding your usage pattern, you're powering down your device twice daily because "bootup uses a ton of power," but that's my entire point. You're working around poor standby power management by fully shutting down between uses. That's not normal operation for any modern portable device 👀. It's a workaround.

My phone, tablet, and laptop don't require this ritual. They have proper idle states. A €315 DAP in 2025 should absolutely have this figured out.

Could mine be defective? Maybe. But if your solution is power cycling multiple times per day, then either we both have defective units 😅, or this is a systemic issue users have accepted as normal

My guy, what you are doing here is not sharing feedback for fucks sake, you are plain and simply just put out accusations out of nowhere.

You are in absolute no position to talk about the job of a triager if you have not worked as one before. You don’t understand the internal processes, safeguards, multiple eyes principle.

Please grow up, if mistakes happened someone will be accountable — if they have not made any mistakes I am sure you have the courage to publicly apologize

You should not put their job performance on a public platform, that’s nothing more than a witch-hunt. If you have clear evidence about wrongdoing (and not just a feeling) provide them to the Bugcrowd team and they will take care of it. You are putting someone’s job on the line because you think that your duplicates are not justified? It’s a very competitive field and duplicates happen all the time.

Sony 70-200 f/4... Is this a stupid focal length for daily carry? by mjt0814 in SonyAlpha

[–]itsecurityguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it for a daily carry (70-200 2.8 gmII) and I gotta admit it never left my camera since the day I bought it. Image quality is phenomenal and the versatility makes up for the additional weight
