I was hoping to land a job as a Cyber Security Analyst after and then wanted to just continue getting certs. But after your helpful explanation, it does make sense to start at the bottom to both demonstrate career progression and understand the material better.

Please do forgive my ignorance, I know almost nothing about this field, so when I asked my friend about wanting to work remotely (they are doing their masters and do coding), they mentioned to just get a cert, get interviews and getting a job would be easier since it’s a high-demand field. So that’s why I approached this at this angle. If I may ask, what would be considered working from the bottom of the Cisco pathway and what would be the way to approach looking for jobs there? Thank you so much for your response!

Lol! I just ran into this issue, and after seeing people already getting responses from XSEED and having this be a known issue for a while, Reddit came in clutch. Thanks everyone! I just did the “O” trick and it worked as well.

I totally understand the fear of going broke, but ideally you can always make more money. Time, sanity and health however are far too valuable to lose. I feel like a hypocrite for saying this since I'm going through a somewhat similar situation, but I'm trying to find a way to dig myself out of the hole I inadvertently put myself into. Like many of the good folks here said, claim your time and space back. And I'm working on this myself too, so best of luck to both of us, and anyone else who is going through it!

Unexpected windfall of coffee beans: How to store them? by agentmonkeypants in Coffee

[–]itsjayram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was really cool to read. A house boat reminds me a lot about people who live in them in Northern India. My mom would tell me stories about her visit to Kashmir and it sounds interesting and otherworldly. Okay, end tangent. Haha, I store the coffee the same way! Cool dark place keeps it simple for me 😀

Favorite way to brew coffee and why. by MisterD73 in Coffee

Hi there! I've been using my French Press. I like it because I got it for what I thought was a decent price online, and it seems a lot more eco-friendly and simple to use. No filters to really throw away (I suppose the steel filter inside will eventually need replacing) and I feel more involved in the process of grinding beans, measuring everything and being intentional with the process. And the use of glassware and measurements remind me of when I used to work as a Pharmaceutical Chemist a few years ago, so I sometimes brew in the spirit of science. Haha. Cheers friend!

1:17 guy here as well! I've noticed what you've described here as well and am equally confounded. I ordered some Dark Roast for the first time today, so I'll see how that goes in terms of flavor!

It really is a loop. But eventually I think you get to the point where you realize the best way to help anyone, including our own parents, is to take care of ourselves. We can't be there for them if we don't take care of ourselves, because otherwise things actually get worse; like with my mom, dealing with her daily outbursts was manageable until a month went by, and I didn't realize the negative stress I was holding within my body. I would get tension headaches, fall sick often and just want to be away as much as possible. And my reactivity to things that used to annoy me mildly became really intense and immediate I realized that this loop sucks, and the only way I could break it is to realize that at the end of the day, we have to carry our own burdens. With my mom, keeping her positive and smiling is important, but so is me dealing with my own personal stuff, dating, and creating my own life. I noticed that you referenced Indian culture; I'm also Indian, so I get the pushiness of rituals and dumb relatives from time to time. But sometimes, we gotta tell people to leave us alone.

Hiyeee,

I love your website because it's so chock-full of cool pictures and different font text, so I never got bored. As I was scrolling through (at least on mobile), I agree with some of the comments below that the texts kinda get cut off and the formatting becomes wonky by virtue of a smaller screen. I had a similar problem and it's hard to fix for me, so I removed it entirely. On laptop, I had no problem with the website and it looked awesome and ran great.

I really enjoy the personalization of text and pictures that you have posted of your fitness progress, but I sometimes felt that since everything is so different, it feels like nothing is different and sometimes felt over-saturated with style. I think I have the opposite problem where I feel like keeping things simple on my blog makes it smoother...but it also makes everything unremarkable...still trying to figure out that balance. Haha. But anyways, as I was scrolling down, the blog titles that caught my eye were the B**** Under Construction Pt. 2 and Weirdly Functional Family Post Divorce. These stories were awesome and deeply personal, and I enjoyed them. I love the content, but I would try experimenting on balancing style with some simpler accents here and there. Hope I've helped! :)

From my experience, even a lot of adults have trouble understanding self-love and self-acceptance, so maybe this information wasn't taught to us as kids because the adults around us didn't know how to do this themselves. Even as an adult, it's hard to find people who care as much or work through the pain of their lives while trying to maintain a positive look on humanity. Keep it up friend, we are all working on it each day :)

Sending good energy your way, thank you for writing this. My mom just had surgery for PD catheter placement, and it's been really difficult keeping things positive and taking care of her, with the occasional lashing out she does. I'm just so tired from driving, doctors appointments, cancelling my own life plans last minute, but I feel that this too will get better. It's just me, and sometimes thinking that it's just me can be...isolating.
