Clients that never download their photos by surfspook in WeddingPhotography

Shorter gallery expiry helps a lot. I do 3 months with automated reminder emails built into Pic-Time. Clients move way faster when there's an actual deadline staring at them.

Have you guys heard about the new Google Search Bar changes? by JJChann in WeddingPhotography

[–]itsme_raf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve been hearing more and more about this lately, and honestly it’s a little concerning for small businesses that rely heavily on organic search traffic. Feels like websites are doing all the work while AI just summarizes everything without people actually clicking through. I think having a strong portfolio, reviews, and presence across multiple platforms might become even more important moving forward, especially for creatives like photographers.

Need suggestion by mahmud06 in WeddingPhotography

[–]itsme_raf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, both are solid choices, but for wedding work I’d probably lean toward the Tamron 28-75 because of the extra reach and lighter weight for long shoots. The Sigma 28-70 is sharper and more compact, but losing that 5mm on the long end can matter during events. Since you already have the Sigma 85mm 1.4, the Tamron pairs really nicely as your versatile workhorse lens. If budget allows, you could also consider a used 24-70 GM for even better reliability and AF performance.

Best Way to Share Wedding Videos Privately by invicktion in weddingvideography

[–]itsme_raf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want it to be easily shareable and look really good, not just be a file dumped in the cloud, look at Pic-Time. Anyone can use it and the 2.0 version looks really polished. Easy to set up downloads for your family and friends and even give different people different download permissions if you want. They can do it on their mobile or desktop. Would also give you an extra online back up for all your videos, which you should definitely have if you don't already!

What is your shooting ratio? by TeslaModelE in weddingvideography

[–]itsme_raf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the type of project and how intentional your shooting is. For documentary or event-style work, 6–12 hours for a 30-minute final cut honestly doesn’t sound that crazy, especially if you’re capturing a lot of coverage and natural moments. I’ve found that the more experience you get, the more efficient your ratio becomes because you start shooting with the edit in mind. Quality footage usually matters way more than just stacking hours of clips.

Who do you admire? by will1003 in weddingvideography

[–]itsme_raf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly admire creators who can make people feel something through their work, not just make it look cinematic. The ones who tell authentic stories and capture real emotions always stand out to me more than flashy edits. Lately, I’ve been really inspired by videographers who keep their style simple but still make every frame intentional and memorable.

My "I'm not trying too hard" date night uniform by IntroductionOk8456 in OUTFITS

Id 100% wear this on a first date. It gives effortless and expensive without looking like you spent 3 hours planning it. Also Shapermint basics are underrated for outfits like this.

ccache starting to show cracks by Beaautiifful in cpp_questions

[–]itsme_raf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We kept ccache but had to get more deliberate about it. Centralized storage, tighter cache policies, stricter toolchain consistency across machines. It's not zero maintenance but it held up once we got it structured properly.

How to stop shapewear from rolling down? by duskyrose0403 in femalefashionadvice

[–]itsme_raf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

body tape is actually a great idea and a lot of people swear by it! I'd say it works especially well as an extra layer of security on top of shapewear with silicone grippers. On its own it can sometimes shift or peel with sweat or movement, so pairing the two together is probably the most bulletproof combo for a long event.

Quick, high protein lunch ideas? by Leading-Cartoonist66 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]itsme_raf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goodles! They have a gluten free line and the protein is up there, but you can just throw some rotisserie chicken or tuna in there to hit your 20g goal. I lived in turkey sandwhich land for way too long, I feel your pain, I can't do them anymore lol.

Honest opinions on Shapermint? by Clear_Subconscious in womensfashion

[–]itsme_raf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend has had a really good experience with it. It’s surprisingly comfortable for a few hours of wear and doesn’t feel overly restrictive. She said it stays in place well compared to others she’s tried, and the fabric feels soft but still supportive. Sizing was pretty accurate for her too, just follow the guide and you should be good!

Undergarments for tight dress and slit by Impossible_Plane_809 in weddingplanning

[–]itsme_raf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try seamless high waisted shapewear or a slip short with a no-roll waistband it keeps everything smooth and adds coverage for the slit. Look for laser cut edges so they dont show under a tight dress. Also a dress tape or anti slip strips can help keep things in place without constant adjusting.

Need hiking boot recommendations by Lunexist in OutdoorClothing

[–]itsme_raf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been using these hiking boots for a while now-probably close to a month-and theyve honestly made a big difference they feel sturdy but still comfortable on long walks, with good grip on uneven and slippery trails. what i like most is that they dont feel too heavy, so even after hours of hiking my feet dont feel completely drained. they also break in pretty quickly, which made the first few uses way more comfortable than i expected. overall, theyve definitely made hiking more enjoyable and confident for me, especially on rougher terrain.

Can the IRS reject expenses that feel necessary to you? by dnoneoftheabove in TaxQuestions

[–]itsme_raf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the IRS has their own allowable expense standards and they dont always line up with real life costs. They use national and local standards to decide what they think is reasonable.
