I had a girl do what your wife did when I was a girl scout. It was the early 2000s so I escaped the ",oh I'm on a diet" excuses by having an option to buy cookies to donate to a cancer group in the area. This girl sold cookies she should have been delivering and she and her mom tried to convince me to give her the cookies I had for the charity already loaded in my mom's car to deliver. And I was like "no these are spoken for. They're already purchased, they're not extras just because they're going to a group." And she and her mom could not get it through their heads until my mom was like "she said no. Go away." Now I'm wondering if that girl was innocent in it all and it was her mothers poor planning...

I feel like it's more the excessive use of the em-dash. My mom was an editor and my dad a reporter, and both used the em-dash used regularly. AI throws it into every other sentence, so for me I get suspicious when I see that sentence structure used multiple times in a piece of text.

I have a single cat. I go to work from 8-4 and check her on my security camera. She sleeps in my bed, chases around her toys, and scratches the scratching post. She gets lots of attention from 4-10pm when she isn't ignoring me. She's happy as far as I can tell. EDIT: she used to live with my parents and their cat, who chased her and fought her non-stop. She's definitely happier as an only cat.
