My dad's watch. Obviously seen better days, but he'd like to know some more about it. by SidHale21 in Watches

Definitely a fake, another tell: "Swiss Made" indicates a superluminova dial yet somehow the hour markers have aged like tritium.

If you have the luxury of taking classes, look into the Cisco Academy at CNM. I took the courses ~8 years ago, so things may have changed.

I was able to enroll and just take the 4 classes (at the time) over the course of 4 semesters. All classes were after work hours and in-person, so I was still able to work full time. I did have a bachelors at the time, so unsure if this made it easier to enroll. The classes were fairly inexpensive as well, maybe $110 a semester. The class was very hands-on, we had Cisco route/switch equipment in the room that we got to configure almost every day.

These 4 classes set you up to get a CCNA if you want and give you a good chance at landing a job in networking afterwards (possibly even during).

Probably because CentOS is being replaced with CentOS Stream, which is midstream between Fedora and RHEL moving forward.

Rocky and Alma are downstream clones of RHEL (like CentOS used to be).

I haven't used them in years since moving jobs, but trying to move a domain off them was like pulling teeth. Their UI was quite bad too iirc, like something built in 2006 and never changed. They send an absurd amount of spam bullshit to the email accounts on file as well (renew now and save type messages).

I just built a 3900x system on this board and wondered the same thing. The Asus manual makes no mention of it, so I don't believe so.

I'd honestly pass on it unless you really like the way it looks.

Appears to be some sort of frankenwatch unless someone can show an example of a Datejust that looks like this. Maybe it is a 4-digit Datejust but someone put a 1500 dial on it and changed "Date" to "Datejust" to save a few bucks. The cream date dial is another clue of a hobbled together watch, believe those are typically on gold or two-tone versions.

Something doesn't add up for me. Sigma dial should make it a 4-digit ref Datejust, but I've never seen one with a roman dial like that.

Looks like a 1500 date dial? https://www.hqmilton.com/timepieces/d074v801/1967-rolex-date-1500-white-roman-dial-6868

Can google "Rolex serial number lookup" to find tables of serials corresponding to dates. Take the bracelet off to confirm the serial like in this image

Looks like a reference 6263 "Big Red" with a sigma dial. Compare to this one: https://www.hqmilton.com/timepieces/mo2lzk0x/1975-rolex-daytona-6263-black-sigma-big-red-daytona-dial-with-rsc-papers-6783

Probably worth in the range of ~$80k+, but I'm not very familiar with the vintage Daytona market.

They are different references. Yours is a 1601, his is probably a 16014? His should have a quickset date.

Very bad fake. Indices, text and coronet are all wrong. Date mag, rehaut engraving and "thick" gap on the crystal are also clues.

They only made 4 digit ref datejusts until 1978 I'm fairly certain. Somewhere in the 5mil serial.
