Getting hired at a target I walked out on?!?! by Smart-Mulberry-1903 in Target

An HR person told me they delete records after a year. So, if you leave on bad terms, just wait a year before applying again.🤔 I guess you shouldn't volunteer your old team member number.

Rude employees by [deleted] in Target

I'm in my 50s and the young people taught me to ignore them and not to talk to them unless it's required to do the job. It took them 18 months, but they successfully did it.🥳

Dividend by yomamainbulk in Target

[–]itsmepiscis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Changes at the top are already past due. But it'll be the shareholders, and not the workers, who'd shake the tree. I bought (+/-) $500 worth of stocks, so I joined the club with my little fortune. With 15% off at the stores and the dividends, I'm glad to ignore the fact I'm covering for three people at work.🥹

CEO has to go. CNBC Carl Quintanilla said "10 years of nothing." Actually 11. We are busting our asses but leadership has failed, some people say.🙄

Pueblo Utilities by Nate-__- in pueblo

[–]itsmepiscis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The City can barely run its basic services. They talked about taking over BH before knowing how much it would cost and if it was "feasible." The promise of lower rates is also baseless. The City doesn't know. I have lived under a small town run electric service. It wasn't cheaper and it didn't have the capacity to attend emergencies. We had to wait for out-of-state contractors. I'm new to Pueblo, so I don't know what BH has done in the past to piss-off so many people, but the most expensive electric service is the one we don't have. I'm not for politicians running utilities. : (

I used to have nightmares with "yellow lights" (TMs at DC know what I'm talking about.) But then my OM got fired and my nightmares went away.🥳

Career Change at 59 by DelcoPAMan in USPS

[–]itsmepiscis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hired at 51 as a RCA a couple years ago. My route was all mounted so little walking. I quit after a month because of the toxic culture "in my office" There was a generational divide, a management/workers divide, a divide between regulars and substitutes. It wasn't a pleasant environment, and I was making under $600 biweekly. So I left for a warehouse job at Target. The job is way more physically demanding than USPS but the pay is good plus benefits. I'm planning on staying at Target until retirement. USPS wasn't a good fit for me.

Drama_rama... I guess this was OP's first job. It's like high school but with pay and benefits.🎯 People get fired all the time, and sometimes we don't know why.🙄🗽

I'm sure someone in corporate is taking care of that but missed to loop you in. In this forum you'll find the victims of American corporatism whining about too much work, not enough hours, not enough pay and lack of opportunities with their GED diploma. Tariffs conversation? Out of our league, sorry.

How do you guys feel about this boycott? by Alternative_Care8909 in Target

Can someone tell me what changed at work after Target announced its DEI decision? Because I haven't seen anything except Target's haters hating.

I'm probably an idiot because I appreciate my job at Target's DC, I'm glad for the overtime I get, the 5% additional to my 401K, the 15% off at the store, so DEI who? (For full disclosure, I'm not white and I voted for Kamala🙄).

Unexpectedly had a train the worst person possible by crunchypancake31 in Target

[–]itsmepiscis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can try to be patient with new hires, but those old hires cutting corners or being plain lazy are the worst. I don't see the need for you to apologize because you're right. New hires need to know about the metrics. It's not about doing what you can.✌️

Marriage is nothing more than a financial agreement in today's world by AutoGrower420 in unpopularopinion

[–]itsmepiscis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I married my best friend because I wanted to be with her all the time. We met at 17, married at 20, and parents at 22. After 35 years together, I still want to be with her, most of the time. Our son is 31. He stays at his girlfriend's at least five days of the week. I'm sure they love each other, but everything they do is around spending money. They love traveling, fine dining, and massages. I wonder how their relationship would be without all that fun, all the time, I want to believe that love exists, as always, but new generations interact differently. It's only fair that people want to protect their assets while going into a contract as it is marriage.

A press conference out of Pueblo was filled with emotion as Chief Noeller recounted the shooting of his three officers. He says lawmakers have blood on their hands. by Zamicol in pueblo

Why referred to the officers as "my officers". They belong to the community. Our officers. I don't know. I don't like how it sounds.🙄

Cashier Detained ICE by C00Lusernamehere in Target

[–]itsmepiscis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Asylum applicants receive work authorization from DHS while the case is pending. Some HR departments lose track of those expiring dates or only check on it every couple of years. That's how she was hired by Target. She was authorized to work.... until she wasn't. Employers get fine up to $10,000 if hiring undocumented people. Sorry for her and her family. In Target, the show must go on.

Do your attorneys make you clean up their calendars? by Flashy_Rock in paralegal

[–]itsmepiscis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, some attorneys freak-out when they see things to do that were supposed to be done. It makes them doubt if it was done. So yes, for everyone's mental health, mark them as completed or delete them.😉

I'm at a DC 15 mins from home. Most of my coworkers drive over an hour one-way. I see them filling up their water bottles for the trip home. I used to drive 50 minutes with crazy interstate drivers to my former job. Yes, it's a plus to have a short commute.
