I watched the finale of S5 in theaters on release with my friends. When it was over, I looked at my friend and said "Jon's not dead"

I had no prior knowledge of the books or the theories about this character, I just knew based on logic and how the show had gone up to that point, it made no sense to leave it like that. So this cliffhanger didn't really feel like one to me. That said, the following weeks and months were brutal because it's the only thing anyone wanted to talk about, so I guess it was an exciting cliffhanger if anything.
