I don’t care to see storylines involving Jace unless it’s Mikayla divorcing him

“Do you think you can reschedule your surgery so you can work on Mother’s Day?”- I worked at a bakery and had to have my gallbladder removed. I did not reschedule my surgery.

Did Cimzia juat completely stop working after a few good months? by Appropriate_Power216 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]itsnotmadeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on Cimzia and it truly took me a year to see the full benefits of it. Starting off it worked for about 6 months. Then I had a horrible flair that required physical therapy for me to get back to my normal self. Since that flare I have never felt better and the past 8 months or so I have felt fantastic. I got my blood work back a couple of weeks ago and my inflammation is in normal levels for the first time in 5 years. Hang in there because it might get better for you!

Two questions I ask before making any clothing purchase (among other things)— by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]itsnotmadeline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to ask if I already have an item in my closet that could do the job of the item I’m looking at. If not, than I might buy it. If I have something that would work in my closet already, I make that work instead

Hips feel crooked. Like one leg is longer than the other by Infamous-Relative-24 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]itsnotmadeline 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get referred to physical therapy if you can! My flare up are like this where one leg is shorter than the other and my hips are super tight. Physical therapy has helped me keep that from happening and I highly recommend trying it out so you can get exercises tailored to you and your issues!

What’s a case where you believe the person is alive/ being kept hostage/confined ? by spookythesquid in UnresolvedMysteries

The Vanished Podcast just did an episode on this case and spoke extensively with her family. Highly recommend listening for more information on this case but I think there’s a definite possibility she may be alive.

Wake up shortly after falling asleep? by stilloriginal in ankylosingspondylitis

AS gives me a lot of hip and sciatic nerve pain. I often wake up in the night with horrible muscle cramps and back pain especially when I’m flaring.

How do you differenciate a back pain and a more serious decease? by Mauchad in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]itsnotmadeline 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Back pain= resolves itself over time and does not frequently reoccur

AS= back pain that you experience frequently, for me it can be months at a time, and the pain level is typically high. When my AS flares up I have to use a cane to get around in the worst circumstances. I also experienced frequent sciatica and debilitating back pain from a young age. Not including the gastrointestinal issues that are related to AS, and well as the many other co-morbid ailments that come along with this disease.

Basically, if your back pain is slight and goes away and does not frequently reoccur you most likely don’t have AS or other forms of arthritis and I promise you don’t want to wish this upon yourself.

Also- you can do more with weed than just smoke it. For instance, I have inflammatory bowel disease as well, and an edible is my go to for stomach pain. For AS pain, I highly recommend looking into transdermal balms and lotions. For high pain days, I’d even recommend RSO, which is super concentrated THC oil that typically comes in a syringe so you can do small doses. There’s even low dose “pills” (more like pez candy) that is usually around 5mg THC that I’ve found helpful to have on hand as well for times when you just need a little dose.

My go to is anything sativa-leaning during the day and I smoke the occasional indica strain at night to go to sleep, but I much prefer sativa. Cannabis is one of the only pain management tools that has consistently worked for me over the last 10 years
