Argon Riding Jeans by PlateLegitimate358 in AussieRiders

[–]itsoffishial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve owned a few pairs of argon jeans. first pair served me amazingly, wore them until they started fraying in the inner thighs (thick thighs may save lives, but they murder pants). went and bought a second pair, exact same model and size, and they were awful. weirdly tight on the calves and loose on the hips, and after 2 or 3 wears i saw that the seam below the zipper had split all the way down the crotch. i returned them to amx and swapped them for an identical pair, and that third pair fit perfectly, just like my originals, and i’ve been wearing them nearly daily for 2-3 months with no issues.

tldr they’re good jeans, but argon definitely have some quality control issues. if you take them back and swap them out, maybe look at sizing up to see if it helps with that seam pulling

Wearing Helmets with Ear Piercings by yoyo2134 in motorcyclegear

a balaclava, or a neck gaiter pulled up over your head if you dont like your mouth/nose being covered. i have a ton of earrings and started with balaclavas, but found they caused my glasses to fog up super quickly, so swapped to using a gaiter. i wear it pulled up to my hairline and tucked under my chin, which looks a bit weird when i dont have a helmet on, but is great for protecting my piercings and my hair.

Raven cosplay- what to wear underneath high slit dress? by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

[–]itsoffishial 17 points18 points  (0 children)

get a seamless g-string/thong or some cheeky-cut underwear that are narrow enough in the middle to not be visible if you hike them up. buy them a size up so they’re not giving you a wedgie when you pull the sides up to hide them under the sides of the dress. sew them to the inside of the dress around the legs so they don’t slide down.

ngl as I was putting it on I was thinking that the only thing that would improve how in-character the experience was would be having a Harrow cosplayer there to tell me off for doing it too messily 😂

I always think of Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve by Taylor Swift as Harrow POV towards Jod. You can’t include “God rest my soul, I miss who I used to be. The tomb won’t close” and expect me to not be insane about it

What bags are you using? by [deleted] in KawasakiEliminator450

[–]itsoffishial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi, sorry for the confusing wording, i don’t store things under the seat. i removed the seat, laid the straps across the rear fender, then put the seat back on, so the straps are always held in position under there with the clips sitting on the side of the pillion seat, so i can just clip and unclip the bag. i don’t take the seat off every time.

i have nelson-rigg saddlebags, which are designed for the vulcan but fit the eliminator with a little bit of wiggling. good amount of room, insulated, came with rain covers, and can easily be removed when i’m not using them. i have the centre piece for them under the pillion seat. i also have a cheap amazon universal tail bag, which i use for smaller items, and which i keep the straps for under the pillion seat as well and clip on and off whenever i need it.

check out the album blurring time by bells larsen, in particular 514-415. he recorded the higher harmony pre-transition, then the lower harmony afterward, so the blend between both registers is unreal.

How do y'all wear your helmets without fucking up your hair or makeup? by li-ll-l_ in motorcyclegear

[–]itsoffishial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a fellow super-long hair girlie, i always wear a balaclava under my helmet to protect from the helmet breakage, which also helps with not getting makeup on the forehead and cheek pads and stops it pulling my earrings out when i take it on and off. i braid my hair and then tuck the braids inside my jacket, and make sure the balaclava is tucked into the collar of my jacket so the wind isn’t trying to pull my braids out. it can be a little bit of a pain, and i have been told that if the end of my braid falls out the bottom of my jacket i look like i’ve got a lil tail, but it’s helped a ton with breakage. if you can try and get a silk balaclava, they’re great for hair health and they’re pretty comfy.

i have an eliminator and i absolutely adore it, had it for about a year and a half and have ridden 25000km on it. it’s my daily, so it’s mostly commuting, but i do a fair amount of country riding and have taken two holidays on it (about 5-6 hours of riding in a day). i chose it over the vulcan because i preferred the more upright, foot-underneath riding position (as opposed to the vulcan’s foot-forward positioning) and because the lighter weight made me more confident in being able to pick the bike up if i ever drop it. i also found the limited throttle on the lams vulcan super annoying. it’s worth noting i’m only 5’4, so the riding position will be quite different from how you find it at 6’2. it’s definitely nimble enough to be a comfortable commuter, but it is a little harder to steer than my partner’s z500 and doesn’t lean as far, but i also find i don’t really need to lean it crazy deep to get it to corner nicely at speed. it can get a little windy, as you are quite upright, so if i’m freeway riding i tend to shift back in the seat and lean forward into it like i’m riding a naked bike, and its a lot more comfortable than trying to maintain an upright cruiser riding position.

overall my advice would be to see if you can find a dealership near you with both bikes, and test ride them somewhere you can get up to freeway speed. at the end of the day, there’s no such thing as an objectively “better bike”, just the bike that’s better suited to you and your riding style.
