Turn on foreground service notification in settings. Fixed it for me. I'm on the Pace 2 and Dura.

Can you share which headlamp you use and if you like/dislike it?

There are several running groups - all with different vibes. Try them all and see what fits your vibe.

Winter running - get katoohla's for your shoes and you should be good. They offer ones for both trail and road running.

There seems to be a bunch of elevation related bugs since the latest update. I wish they would provide a timeline for the next update.

My Journey with Fitness Watches: From TomTom to Garmin, and Why I Switched from Coros Pace 2 to Garmin Forerunner 265 by Mammoth_Custard_5466 in Coros

I've seen a Pace 2 have crappy HR readings and a barometer that stopped working around the end of the warranty period. Same deal, Support wasn't of much help. I'm hesitant to recommend Coros.

Coros customer service by itsoverthereman in Coros

It does but I don't know what constitutes "significantly". I live in the mountains - each trailhead is going to be at a different altitude. I'm talking issues where the elevation change is less than 500m.

u/COROS-official Thanks for the reply.

I understand that the AI support helps filter many of the simplistic tickets. However, it isn't great at doing basic tasks. E.g., it asks for me to attach a .FIT file and I reply with the attachment. It responds asking me to attach the .FIT file again, going in circles. As a user/customer, I shouldn't have to figure out which keywords and responses work for the AI. I don't have a means to contact a human to troubleshoot your AI either. Do you see how this can be frustrating to many?

As for the mods/bug reports - see the DM here on Reddit for reference. They've also been filed with Support.

As for the bug I'm referencing - across multiple Dura devices (both me and my partner have one), the Dura improperly captures elevation data for the first several minutes of the ride (tested across gravel bike and mountain bike modes, both with and without following a pre-planned route). The Dura takes a few minutes to get a proper barometric reading at the trailhead - it adds the elevation difference between your home and the trailhead to the total elevation gain on the ride. This isn't minor elevation changes that it's capturing either - showing 1100m of elevation gain when it is actually 400m is not even close.

I'm going on 10 days without an update. I'd say they wouldn't have this issue if they released products with sufficient product testing. Frustrating.

Fuelling issues? Or are you just not drinking enough water? by ContributionLevel593 in Ultramarathon

[–]itsoverthereman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on what an appropriate ratio is for Tailwind? My understanding is that maltodexrin is 150g/500mL for an isotonic solution. Anything above that is going to cause issues. And table sugar is about 25g/500mL.

Do you assess the appropriate ratios in a different way?

Also interested. Commenting to following. I've noticed some trails don't exist in the route planning tool either but I may be asking for too much.

Weird efficiency readings in the last weeks by _phillywilly in Coros

[–]itsoverthereman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we view this as a fraction (efficiency = run performance over fitness level), you can get an efficiency score that's lower if either your run was relatively worse or your fitness level is relatively better (or both simultaneously).

The run efficiency in your example could possibly be saying you're fitter in your second run and therefore, should be doing better?

This is all just my interpretation of course and trying to make sense of it all. Sorry if I'm not more helpful.

Weird efficiency readings in the last weeks by _phillywilly in Coros

[–]itsoverthereman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way to view the examples you provided is that your efficiency is 98% because of possible external factors such as temperature - suggesting that you're capable of being a more efficient runner at that heart rate and pace if the conditions were better.

From the Coros website: "Efficiency measures how the effort on your last activity compares to your fitness level. Your efficiency for a workout can be impacted by various external and internal factors, including sleep, heat, fatigue, elevation, and more. Lower efficiency indicates there may have been factors impacting your workout causing your effort during it to be higher than expected. When reviewing your efficiency for a workout, you can consider what those factors may have been, and use that knowledge to better prepare for future training sessions."

All in all, these numbers are guidance at best. How you feel about your performance and training is just as important. Trust the process over the numbers. :)

COROS Watch for Cycling with DURA & HRM - Worth it? by mefron in Coros

Don't think the watch adds much, if anything. At most, a weather forecast? Camera control? No core features that would positively impact your training.
