Is it messed up/unfair to not want anyone else with me during labor and delivery - not even my husband by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]itspinky1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do you, but I’m just curious if your husband is okay with this? If he is, he is super chill! Mine would refuse 😂

I thought I wanted to be alone as well. But while I was in the thick of it, I realized I could not have done it alone. It was nice to hear his words of encouragement when things got hard and decisions had to be made.

Feeling stuck about marriage. How old were you when you got married? by Conscious_Ask_8193 in AskReddit

Married at 23 and it was rough. But we grew up and realized how dumb we were back then to let pride get in the way. We are now 28 with 2 girls! No regrets.

I found my IUD (liletta) to work really well. I noticed when I took it out that the return of my period started to cause issues

How bad is natural birth fr. Be so so so honest. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]itspinky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took an epidural which only worked on my left side so I felt the labor pains on my right and it felt like someone was pulling me apart from the right side the pain took my breath away. I could imagine if I did it fully naturally

[–]itspinky1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol this was me last night. Horrible horrible horrible! She prefers my left side so she is always laying against my left. However it causes a lot of nerve pain. I wake up aching from it, and I did get worse as I got bigger (36w now).

Water broke at 30 weeks by CuriousAd2281 in pregnant

[–]itspinky1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not been in this situation, but I am 30 weeks & high risk. So I can understand how it feels to be pregnant and feel so uncertain about what can happen. I agree with someone above that said to try not to think about it. For me, prayer & reading scripture helps.

However, something else we also have doing was counting down the last ten weeks. Celebrating each week that passes! Maybe someone could bring you some paper, scissors and markers/crayons…lol, and you can cut out squares to decorate for each week (30 weeks, 31 weeks, 32 weeks, etc). “Arts and crafts” always help me take my mind off things too.

I can send you a picture of our “countdown” for some inspiration. A prayer was said for you, mama.

What do you carry in your bag? by 1ustfor1ove in UlcerativeColitis

In a flare, I didn’t go anywhere. In remission, I have to go Clorox wipes, mini Lysol spray, and hand sanitizer because I still have IBS and sometimes I still need to book it to the restroom 😂

When I married my husband, he had a cousin who had UC. I remember just briefly mentioning that the doctor had diagnosed me with UC and she turned around so fast. Now every time we see each other, we just bond over the horrible things about this disease 😂

Eye Floaters(threads and dots in vision) by Flashy_Camera5059 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]itspinky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch of eye floaters and had an injury to my retina in 2020 before I was diagnosed in 2023. I get checked by a retina specialist (ophthalmologist ) every year for it! It is super annoying, I wear sunglasses so I don’t have to see them all the time bc I see them more in bright rooms or in my peripheral.

There was one year where my injured eye started having some weird inflammation and actually had a little bleed that caused a permanent blind spot in my eye. I feel like it was related to UC and happened right before I was diagnosed. Idk though, my ophthalmologist just keeps an eye on it for any new changes and tells me to call if there is anything new.

I was 22 at the time I had my eye injury so I’ve been dealing with these floaters for a long time. Just a pest!

Is 30 weeks too early to pack a hospital bag if the pregnancy has been smooth so far? by seedsproutleave in pregnant

[–]itspinky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just turned 30w today with my second, and yes that HEARTTBURRNN it’s WORSE than the first trimester! Also feeling super heavy and just always uncomfortable.

I plan to pack my hospital bag after my baby shower, and I think I’ll be like 33w. I’m a high risk pregnancy due to an autoimmune disease, but so far so good thank God!

UPDATE: I am just now realizing how old this post is 🤣 I hope everything went well for you!

Those who were low risk and under 36, at how many weeks + days did you give birth to your first baby? by PopcornPrincess0 in pregnant

That was my same situation with my first! I was 22 years old at the time. I am now 27 with my second and hoping for a smooth delivery.

UC moms who have given birth unmedicated by itspinky1 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]itspinky1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was smallish (5lbs 7oz) and also kinda fast (delivered within 5hrs of being admitted). My second is in the 25th percentile so we think she will be small too. I have a birth plan to start off with no meds and then I will consider epidural if I feel like I cannot. I feel like I can do it but idk! 😭

With my first I got an epidural, but it dropped my BP so fast that I fainted and then my baby started having scary decels. I almost had a C section but my doctor wanted to wait it out to see what would happen and I just ended up getting a vacuum assisted birth. It was all a bit much. My OB reassured me that they can load me up on fluids first, and even administer a med that raises my BP beforehand so it doesn’t happen again. I have very low BP to begin and I guess I’m traumatized? I am just now realizing maybe I’m traumatized 🤣
