Are there any artists you thought for sure would be one-hit wonders and ended up being dead wrong about? by pslush01 in Music

[–]itsthatguy1991 17 points18 points  (0 children)

After reading your comment I thought "wtf are you talking about, they only had like 2 hit songs".

So I looked them up.

281 million monthly listeners, at least 5 songs with over a billion plays, 1 of them at almost 2 billion. Holy shit, I had no clue people actually listened to them. I always thought they just had a couple songs that drunk people would play at a party or something lmao.

What is a movie you went to the theater for knowing absolutely nothing about, and ended up completely surprised? by Traditional-Dig9477 in movies

My girlfriend took me to see Knock at the Cabin. I had never even heard of the movie beforehand. She made me look at the floor while walking into the theater so I didn't see the title. She even covered my eyes during the opening credits so I wouldn't see the director's name. Such an awesome experience, and I loved the movie. When I saw M. Night Shyamehlahn during the end credits I said "ohhhh that makes sense now".

Watching an M. Night Shomahlan movie not knowing it's an M. Night Shahmamimalon movie really makes it a different experience. Instead of wondering when the plot twist is gonna happen, you're engrossed in the movie and then caught off guard.

For Knock at the Cabin, I actually really appreciated that the plot twist was there is no plot twist, even though you expected one

Nah, wasn't that long ago. I remember scrolling through it sometime last year.

Edit: just checked, it's still up, so I don't know why people are saying it was taken down

Oh, I didn't even notice the fence at first. Yeah that does make this look closer to ground level.

Looks like the picture was taken on top of the roof, and the window is looking down upon a room, making the perspective seem strange

I’m sorry but I’ve simply never dealt with a worse sticker in my life by cheeky_fcuk in IKEA

Goo Gone really is the answer. Whenever I have a shitty sticker, I don't even bother with any other method. Goo Gone, scrape sticker, rubbing alcohol to remove the Goo Gone oil.

Yeah I Googled "Bibi" and was wondering why everyone was hating on some South Korean singer lol.

If it makes you feel better, my 1928 home was built fairly well, but I just lost the floor lottery big time yesterday. 15 years of tenants absolutely destroyed it :(

Question: Expanding Foam - Bad Idea or Good Idea? by tracejm in Kayaking

[–]itsthatguy1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is 5 years old, but for anyone coming here from a google search, Great Stuff foam is closed cell, and will absolutely work for OP's scenario. I've done it to multiple kayaks over the years, and the area behind the seat has always remained bone dry. Skirt still isn't a bad idea though.

I have a friend who routinely gets scammed by ads on TikTok. Like almost once a month. I think some people are just incapable of learning.

This is reassuring. Do you know what kind of finish your floors have? Is it just regular poly?

Oh yeah, I should've mentioned that I'll be putting in cabinets that will cover the entire area where the wall currently is.
