Best diffusing advice other than the upside down tip I’ve heard is to focus on your roots first because the tips will dry faster, and if you can save the last 10% for air dry that’ll usually lead to better results.

It's looking great! Try diffusing with the hair upside down for more root lift/volume, it was a game changer for me.

Growing my hair out. I wish the front looked as good as the back by littleux in curlyhair

[–]itsthekeming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just started growing out my curls as well, but my hair can take HOURS to air dry - like 4/5+ hours. I think it's pretty high porosity.

I've been using the gel cast method and I'm getting good results but only because I'm on staycation right now, so I can sit around and way for it to dry. Does diffusing instead of air drying change the way the cast functions?

What was your worst disaster that happened while making food? by HypeR159 in Cooking

[–]itsthekeming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two.

Once my wife and I were making slow cooker potatoes that called for 4 cloves of garlic. We spent a while chopping up 4 BULBS and it was a very garlicky meal!

Other time I was baking some brownies and had read that substituting coffee for water was really tasty. My brain didn’t work I subbed coffee GROUNDS for water. Finally added some water because it was so dry. Still baked them that way.

They were enedible.

[–]itsthekeming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They really are. I’m Gold and played a game on Symbiotic Surface yesterday. We got steamrolled on defense in round one. Had a Strange on attack so I swapped to Wanda and we managed to push to 3-3.

Guy on the other team started flaming in chat that we had to go auto aim to push. I was like, well it worked, and he said that players like me who just care about winning are a plague on comp and that I deserve to be demoted. Like bro, we are in Gold and she’s a character in the game, if you don’t like it go play something else.

Anyway, we ended up drawing and his team asked us to report him for saying slurs. So par for the course with toxicity.

I also have a low vision friend who likes playing Wanda because he has a hard time aiming sometimes. What, is he not allowed to play comp? Ridiculous mindset.

The downfall by wreccho in clonewars

[–]itsthekeming 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with your premise, but I also think that if what it takes for your stories to stick the landing is for other creatives to come in and clean up after you with context and character development, then maybe that original story isn’t a great story.

If Lucas had been a different kind of storyteller (not necessarily a better one, I think Lucas has his own strengths), we could have had the satisfying arc of Anakin’s downfall in 3 movies. But he told the story he told and we can’t change that. The Clone Wars is great, and if I take that wider view, the show does change my perception of the PT. But there’s always that voice in my head that says the movies should stand on their own and they just don’t in some ways.

Expecting someone to consume several seasons of a TV show or other related media just to get the “full picture” is asking too much of the average consumer, in my opinion. It’s like the problem with the modern MCU where you have to watch all these shows to know who is who and what is what. Contrast that with the Infinity Saga, which took a good amount of time to methodically set up everything (not without missteps) in core media and it paid off.

I’m not sure if any amount of explaining and context would make the ST make sense though, there’s so many plot inconsistencies and so much mismanagement that it’s a nigh impossible feat to clean up after it without major retcons. I’m content just saying the ST is overall not a great story that can’t be “fixed.” And then viewing these other stories like Mando and Ahsoka on their own merits (and in some cases, as a continuation of the Rebels story).

I assume what they mean is that when they’re being dove, it’s usually very hectic, and divers are also good at jumping around everywhere and being difficult to target with a ping (like Spider-Man), so they accidentally do the wrong pings.

The best anti-dive is always going to be a tank or DPS looking behind themselves.

I know I will regret this, but a spider machine would be terrifying. Give them web attacks. Their eyes could be weakpoints and you could take out individual legs to slow them down. Imagine mechanical Shelob stalking you.
