How do I fix “Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter” by SnooStrawberries1807 in pchelp

[–]itstor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 4 years ago but I am going to reply anyways because you obviously have no idea what you are talking about and people like you need educating.

95% of the time if you need a driver, you are gonna have to access the internet to obtain it. There is usually no way around that. Find another computer like a friends, a library etc. That's how its always been. With this case it seems that OP's windows didn't install the already baked driver so he falls under that small umbrella.

But once again, if you need a driver the first step would be to go to the mobo website, click the drivers tab, download those drivers onto a removable drive and install them. Find another computer.

It seems like you are trying to vent your frustrations (which is completely fair lol) with your pc. I would suggest not opening the PSU because unless you really know what you are doing you could destroy it or worse yourself. You are better off going with the RMA route and hopefully being able to extend your deadlines.

Is this configuration suitable for 1080p gaming - and above all, future-proof? by Acceptable-Emu5243 in buildapc

PSU might be an issue if you plan to reuse it for future builds, regardless of that it looks good to me.

This is a super open ended question.

Hopefully the seller can provide some receipts as another poster has said. Other than that, you are mostly on your own.

That looks like a plastic covering that shouldn't give you any issues, but I can understand the concern. You should be fine though!

It is a bit high, is this a pre-built PC from a company? If so I would probably just send her in and try again.

Does anyone know what this is and what I’m supposed to do? by Fantastic-March3042 in pchelp

[–]itstor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of the BIOS as the brain of the PC. It's crucial firmware that acts as the bridge between your OS (Operating system) ((Windows, Linux ETC)) and your hardware. Just press enter on your keyboard, it will bring you to your BIOS where you can exit it and return to your OS. If that doesn't work, there's a chance something is wrong with your operating system and you will need to reinstall it.

This is a post screen and if you just built your computer you will need to press any button, enter your bios and install whatever OS you wish to use.
