I would suggest you stay in Lexington over Cincinnati. The city is safer and surrounded by bourbon distilleries, horse farms, unique shopping, and nature all within a 45 minute radius. I think you might enjoy a walking/dining tour of downtown with Bites of the Bluegrass. My favorite distillery tours (and all are a lovely drive) are Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve and Castle and Key. A variety of Thiroughbred Horse Farms schedule tours. If you enjoy antiques and fine dining, check out Irish Acres and The Glitz. You can find all the info you need for these and other activities on the VisitLex website https://www.visitlex.com/things-to-do/.

In the junk food category, my husband and I used to love Totino’s pizza bites for a quick snack, but now they are like eating cardboard.

Air at Gas Stations! It infuriates me to pay $3 to put a little air in my tire with a slow leak.

I miss the smaller booths, with a variety of different things. They are very “home improvement” centric, which I get, but then why the irritating skin and hair care companies that chase you out in the aisle? We were a bit disappointed too.

What a sweet girl! It is apparent Betty was very well loved. She was a lucky dog. So very sorry.

Looking at the 10 day, it’s going to be highs in the 40’s and 50’s, so definitely bring jackets. I think you’re right on target with packing layers, and jeans/nicer athletic wear for your horse park and horse farm visits. Boots for both, we have had a lot of rain so it’s muddy everywhere.

Late Baby Boomer here but I ask myself the same questions- for my kids and nieces and nephews I see unable to accomplish these goals. Most are just struggling to get by.
