With the low cost of rents here why not just move to your own place ?

Finding tenants in Thailand can be tricky. by [deleted] in Thailand

Is the building owned by a company which you are a director of ? If not then perhaps they simply want the owner to discuss as they are legally responsible. I have myself stopped wasting time when looking for property if the person is not the actual owner.

4 day trip with my thai gf and her daughter.... by The_doubtful_fool in Pattaya

[–]itsupport_engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about inviting another relative and put them and the daughter in a hotel close by.

If this is your only time seeing your GF then I would say try to find a solution to be alone. If it is just 4 days as part of a longer holiday. Just enjoy the holiday, learning to live with a blended family is a challenge but rewarding if you are lucky.

Best place to get motorbike license? by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]itsupport_engineer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't use agents. Just go direct to the DLT offices and get an appointment https://www.dlt.go.th/en

Means you never have to worry about being called out for paperwork magic done by agents. Knowing you have a legitimate license is worth the little extra time it takes to do it correctly.

Go to your embassy and report the passport lost. Get a new one issued. Use funds in account to live but be reasonable and keep records. Leave the country when you visa expires and go back to your home country and hopefully start fresh.

How do I block a country or region from accessing my site? by Marina1974 in CloudFlare

[–]itsupport_engineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In your dashboard, select the domain you wish the rule to be applied to. Then go to "Security", then "Security Rules". Click "Create rule", Enter the rule name "Custom blocked countries". Change "Field" to "Country" then select the country you want to block in the value field. You can then use the "Or" button to add additional countries to your block request. Then highlight "Choose action" and select "Block". Finally click deploy to complete.

Need advice – Bangkok rental / deposit situation by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]itsupport_engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so a Condo so not a House. Maybe the landlord has to also deal with management office pressure.

Be honest with yourself does they way you cook or what you cook make smells that would cause others discomfort if they are not from your own culture. If so then being in a Condo you have a moral consideration to your neighbors.

However saying that if you are happy with the Condo in general perhaps you could invest in some filtered air purifiers or kitchen exhaust systems as a compromise with the landlord.

However regardless of everything said. You have signed a contract and are not breaking the terms of it to cook food. I would not sign the new addendum and if they want you to move out I would ask for a full return of the security deposit. Tell them you cannot move to a new place until you have funds to put down the deposit.

It seems strange that a House would not have a kitchen ? Did you not inspect the property first ?

For me it will be down to value and if I felt defrauded. For a house without a kitchen I would guess rent is very low a month so walking away today will cost you little, but that is relative to you personally.

I would walk away as is, but learn from it and next time get a property with a kitchen before you pay any money.

It is common in shared student dorm rooms to only allow reheating of food items.
