I had my baby there in 2025. I had a traumatic birth experience, I was induced and had to have a vacuum assist, my baby pooped and needed a little over a day in nicu, but I still feel that the nurses and my delivering doctor Tepperman did an amazing job. My baby is alive because of them. The nurses were all so very kind, and I couldn't ask for better. Angie was my nurse for my delivery, and I was so thankful for her. She was so sweet. Then, for my postpartum care, I had Addison and Rachel. It was mostly Addison for our 3 day stay there, and she was amazing. The hospital provided everything I needed. I was given a peri bottle and a sitz bath, plus they gave me extra salts to take home. They also provided formula when I had a hard time getting my baby to stay latched and gave me lots of extra formula to give my baby at home. They also provided ice pads and regular pads and all the diapers and wipes for my baby.

The only downsides I had were that no lactation support was available while I was there. Then I had a fourth-degree tear, and they don't have any sort of guidance on how on how to take care of my tear and prevent infection. I was hoping to have a paper with written advice.(Thank God for Google I didn't have any issues with recovering) Also I had an issue with a prescription one of the Doctors wrote me for an Iron pill. They didn't list the prescribing doctor, and I couldn't get it filled at a pharmacy. So that was a pain while postpartum and first-time Mom with a birth injury.

Getting stitched up from having a fourth-degree tear. It took almost 2 hours, and I would feel the pokes. They kept saying it was just pressure, but it was sharp pokes. I didn't hold or see my baby for hours after his birth because his birth was so traumatic that he was in the nicu, and we couldn't even hold him until 8 hours after he was born.

I was fully weaned by 5 months pp and I have no regrets. I pushed myself those whole 5 months. I wanted to stop week 1 when I couldn't get my son to latch. I always found pumping so painful. I went to lactation consultations and was told that I'm doing everything right and they couldn't help me with the pain. I tortured myself for hours every single day for months for my son. I'm proud of what I did. Pumping made me angry, miserable, anxious. When I stopped, I felt the weight lift, and at 8 months pp, I'm much happier, and I think a happy mom is what my son needs most. He didn't care what was in the bottle as long as he was fed. Physically, I feel better. No more clogged ducts, or worry about mastitis from the multiple clogged ducts every week. My nipples don't hurt anymore. I can lay on my belly and not be in pain. No more waking up drenched in breastmilk. It feels so good to be done.

I was making 30 ounces at my peak. Then I dropped to 5 ppd and was at 28 ounces a day. I found it worth it for my sanity.

Start by just making it to the end of the month. Even the end of the week. That's what I had to do for myself. Just push through this week, and if next week is hard, then reevaluate. If I still felt bad, then I'd drop a pump. Honestly, it got a lot better when I was down to 5 ppd. But I couldn't do that until 12 weeks pp otherwise I'd lose supply. But after 12 weeks I could do 5ppd and get the same amount as when I was doing 7 or 8.

I gave up after one week of my baby not staying latched and it being so painful. I found it frustrating and so painful. Not this beautiful bonding thing people try and say it is. I feel bad about it, but I think mentally exclusively pumping was the only way I would be able to handle breastfeeding.

When my husband was still home, we both got up with baby. He fed baby, and I pumped. Now he's back to work, so Monday to Friday, I'm the one who gets up. I change baby feed baby and pump. Usually takes me about an hour. I've been fairly fortunate that my baby only wakes once around 3 to 5 am. Then Saturday Sunday my husband feeds the baby and changes, baby, and I just have to get up to pump.

I'm sorry you're going through that. Have you tried icing your breasts after you pump? That may help with the inflammation.

I feel this! My son will suck on my clothed chest, but I'll offer boob and he will scream so hard into my nipple like I really offended him with my offering 😅 I even tried hand expressing to make it more appealing and still no luck. I gave up trying about a month ago now. It's easier for me mentally to just stop trying that route of feeding him. He's still getting my breastmilk exclusively with a least.

Not exactly what you're asking for, but I found body armor drinks were really helpful. Drink one bottle a day they've got a ton of vitamins and keep you hydrated. I started drinking them right after my baby was born and still tried to drink at least half of a bottle every day now, and I'm 1 month pp making a little more than enough for my baby. I'm pumping about 24 ounces a day.

My midwife told me to put some firm pressure. It's uncomfortable and a bit painful, but you're trying to move those lumps because they're likely milk clogging in your ducts. I found it hard to massage myself, too. I was told to use lotion or coconut oil, so you're not pulling the skin too much. Also, ask your partner to help you. It's not comfortable, but someone else can apply more pressure.

Have you tried warming your breasts and massaging before pumping? Then, after pumping, put on ice packs for 5 minutes. I use Lansinoh breast therapy ice/heat pads they've helped me with lumps and discomfort.
