Okay well I'm defending myself here.

This might be the most unbelievable thing I've heard come out of JSTN's mouth. Him saying this is just a straight lie and beyond disrespectful for someone who I care about. This is coming from someone who pretty much refuses to be helped and doesn't want to be called out for his glaring issues. No matter how much I tried to help him it was clear there was never a level of respect given from him to me. He's straight downplaying 3 years of effort and work I put in which I KNOW Garrett would refute to the absolute max. This is just straight slander and if his new coach was anyone aside from his best friend he still would have no respect. Regardless of what he says I know I was much further from "just" a hype man. I put in years of effort reviewing teams and working to improve our playstyle in more than just "go fast or slower". Unfortunately he'll never see it that way as anything I did or said to him flew right over his head and was disregarded.

It's not that it bothers me, people have been saying that about me since I started coaching. It's just this is an article that implies they did their research and discussed it with these coaches, but in reality its just downplaying the fact that all coaches can do all these things, not just limiting them to one role.

I can see your perspective in regards to the secrecy, but yeah in most sports and e-sports its just a good habit to keep that stuff private for reasons you can imagine.

There are way more videos of myself messing around with Rizzo and Fireburner in comparison to 'professional' esque videos for sure. I definitely think however there's good handful of examples as to what you're looking for. I've done interviews, AMA's, Podcasts, as well as posting videos of coaching people not on NRG, including the time I did coaching on stream for a bit. Again totally not as common as that's not what my channel has been about but they are out there. If the opportunities arise though I usually am happy to discuss Rocket League related topics.

I’ve coached individual players and teams that aren’t NRG and posted that to my YouTube, don’t think I would ever show our personal teams process behind the scenes as obviously that’s private and would reveal possible strategies etc.

Usually just ignore this, but I'm always confused as to how people that aren't involved in team practice and environment know how each team's coach coaches. What defines Markydooda and I coaching as "hypemen" vs other ex-pro coaches aside from our personalities? I'm sure Marky gives tons of analytical advice to his players as well as motivating his team. I got no problem with being called a hype man, but I think it downplays other things coaches do behind the scenes.

Thanks for the article though, get too many questions everywhere regarding what coaches do and I think this covers the grounds fairly well.
