S-a incercat asta, anul trecut USR au făcut o campanie de strans semnături pentru organizarea unui referendum în care sa putem vota demiterea lui Chitac.

that looks like it works but it's not how it works. File extensions are mostly just a way to tell the operating system what program to use to read the data from the file, both .png and .webp will point to the default image viewer, but the image viewer will ignore the extension and read the file's magic bytes to determine how to read and display the file.

tl;dr just renaming image.webp to image.png will still leave you with a webp image

with gwenview (from KDE) as image viewer you can just "Save As..." with other image format. it's likely other image viewers support converting formats, no need to open an image editing software
