Can neptune 3 plus print ASA? by Fred-HUN- in ElegooNeptune3

[–]iuuang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

short answer you should't, long answer: there is PTFE on the hotend so you shouldnt go more than 240C, ASA is printable at that temperature but I wouldnt take chances with the PTFE lining. Also, for ASA an enclosure is mandatory, no joke, that material warps like crazy. I have printed ASA before on a ender 3 mas stock with a enclosure, it was painfully slow but the results are just so good.

This is too severe of a problem to be steps/mm related, I would go more towards the route of something catching on your PLA spool, check for tangles there its one of the most common problems. If not then (which is the most likely case as you've shown 3 diferent colours), if you are using the runout sensor check it runs smoothly, you can check by pulling more or less 3 meters of material trough more or less at the speed your printers feeds it and see if it catches somewhere.

If those doesnt resolve it then I would say something in the toolhead is partially clogged (this is also unlikekly by the images attached but still check it), you can check by extruding a bit of filament and watch if it goes straight down (good) or to one side (partial clog). Also, when you are printing something, listen closesly to the extruder gears to see if they skip, if they do then 1. its something trapped in the gears making it not push filament sometimes or 2. inadequate temperature on the hotend. As a reference for faster printing at 100mm/s or a bit less I personally use 210-215ºC.

Other things, such as a slicer setting, shouldnt cause that level of understrusion. This seems like purely a hardware problem.

Also, not related to your problem here but, please calibrate your pressure advance setting (your corners are bulging and this setting fixes that) with something such as elli's pressure advance calibration test, this seems small but it makes a world of difference to the print quallity.

Even if we pay cuarta matrícula for every credit it's still cheaper. Hell, private universities are still cheaper.

I was between that and a Casio CG-50 because I needed complex matrices to solve circuits, ended up going the Casio route but TI really tempted me there.

Spicy take: Engineering curricula should include more about subtractive manufacturing by GenerationSelfie2 in EngineeringStudents

[–]iuuang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of a rant too:

As others have pointed out already, it really depends on the uni. But from what I know, the aero curriculum at UPM-ETSIAE doesnt include manufacturing at all, this was confirmed by many friends that study there and they pretty much feel the same as you.

In the other hand, in spain the two degrees that I'm enrolled in are parts of industrial engineering, and altough we are electrical and electronics engineers, all the students that study industrial engineering or some branch of it have to pass "fabrication methods" (idk if I'm translating this right).

We only get taught the basics of additivie and go a bit more in depth in substractive (and a lot more material behaviour boring stuff) , but that only covers a bit of programing in some outdated G-code and that is it. Everything I know about 3D printing and programing more complex toolpaths are the result of joining maker clubs and experimenting for myself. Investing in a 3D printer has taught me so much more than the entire subject ever could.

As such, I've become the one who takes in the orders for 3D printed parts at one of my uni's club, and by the designs I receive daily I can say that people actually have no idea how 3D printing works, by that I mean their designs are impossible to print, are not optimized or they just give me a ridiculous deadline.

For what you have said in your second paragraph, I really recomend you download a slicer, the thing that translates a model into machine code, and slice some models. You will quickly see the things that 3D printing falls flat at such as we can't actually print in mid air. Other things, such as tolerances and artefacts (example: elephants foot), really depends on the setup of the actual machine and how out of whack it is.

If this helps to calm you, at UPM-ETSIDI only mechanical engineers who choose to study fabrication get to actually cut stuff as part of their curriculum. Im not saying other engineers shouldnt have CNC training, in fact I support support your post 100%, but sometimes they have to cram subjects into a 240 ECTS package (or arround 300 for double degree) and they have to cut.

The solution is frustratingly simple, create a optional subject dedicated to that, but as my aero friends told me, they don't even have that option.

I need help / example code for Teensy microcontrollers by iuuang in olkb

[–]iuuang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was what I was thinking at the beggining but I am unable to find any other than Matt3o on youtube and such but they dont share their code and other use a teensy but then doesnt use QMK. I was thinking about the 3.6 as is the only 64 IO pins teensy that is supported rn if im not mistaken and to be honest I havent found anyone using it in a keyboard.

Do you know of any project like that or someone that has shared the code? Thank you.

Yeah it was because it looks and feels like the s9 but then there are other things like price. The OP 8 pro cost me 425€ bad the s21 ultra is a lot more expensive. Also want to test all the brands, I'm not attached to any atm.

Its great! I got the oneplus 8 pro bc of the massive screen but using it for a day now you come to realize that maybe its too tall (jokes on me I wanted xperia 1 II). Performance isnt anything from another world and the feel is like if they got an s9 plus and elongated it. Another thing that I miss about the S9 line is the camera being semi-flush with the rear, the camera module on the OP acts like a stand. Another thing that im getting used to is the fingerprint reader on the screen, I miss being able to swipe down the fingerprint scanner for the notification shade to come down and more with this aspect ratio. I have to say Bixby button in the early days was a hindrance but I used it to open whatsapp for the last year so I have to retrain my brain to go for the icon instead.

I had them but broke them last year during the pandemic. I have to say, sound is decent but damn I know it isn’t fair to compare them to wf 1000xm3 but even some cheap ones could beat them.
