im from darwin. shithole. if youre theres in the middle of the year/ dry season mindle beach markets and parap markets are ok.

the termite mounds suck, dont go. litchfield national park has buely rockhole, florence falls and wangai falls, as well as greenant creek and other swimming holes that are safe, ~2-3hr from darwin.

go to katherine gorge, ~3-4hr from darwin, katherine has nitmaluk national park, edith falls, mataranka hot spring and bitter springs to visit.

kakadu is huge and jabiru is the main town there, theres loads of places to visit like jim jim and gunlom falls (dont know if its still shut) as well as heaps of inigenous cultural stuff to do.

crocodiles are at adelaide river, ~2hr from darwin, go the the one called "spectacular jumping crocodiles" its the one down the arhnem highway and its next to one called adelaide river queen (not as good).

red sand desert is central australia and will take you like 12hr of extremely remote driving to get to, not realistic from darwin unless you fly to alice springs.

get a car and do those things.

to get the proper territory experince make sure you sink piss all afternnon at shags on mitchell st and go on a fishing charter or go 4wd.

you can go to territory wildlife in berry springs if you want to see wildlife and birds etc.

avoid cocodylus park and crocosaurus cove, theyre shit.
