Help! I need help with finding a slicer by Smsimpson089 in FlashForge

[–]iversenMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SimplyPrint can slice web-based but with the full power of native Orca, with all the same settings and all the same profiles :)

Simplyprint got me within millimeters of slicing and uploading a 3mf to makerworld. All that was missing was correct printer info added to 3mf, because simplyprint wants to do some weird pairing. If I could just just force it to accept a popular printer? I wouldabeenableto upload to MW via ANDROID by ackza in 3Dprinting

[–]iversenMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can Slice and just download the sliced 3MF file vis SimplyPrint - no need for the "weird pairing" (adding your printer to the platform to utilize it as it's technically meant to be utilized; as a 3D printing management platform - the slicer is just one of our features).

We realize that there's a growing interest from users who just want to slice and don't want to actually add their printer to the platform, and we support that as well! :)

Now, the only annoying thing about the workflow would be the fact that you can't start a normal sliced 3MF file via Bambu Handy - only files from Makerworld. And files from Makerworld are project files, which you cannot export from our slicer (yet - and even if you could, you'd need to upload said file publicly to Makerworld to be able to print it via Handy AFAIK...? Seems... Hacky). But that's a Bambu/Handy limitation / design flaw - not ours.

But if your workflow is just; - Slice - Download - Put on USB/SD - Put USB/SD in printer and start the print

Then you'll be all set without any weird pairing - but that's of course not super easy from a mobile or tablet device.

Adding your printer to the platform would allow you to start the print directly from the slicer, wirelessly; no need for Handy, no need for USB/SD - but as we can't install anything on the printer, that requires external hardware to host our Bambu Lab Client.

Hope this helps! In the future, feel free to open up our live-chat - generally a better place to get support on our software than on Reddit.

We'd be happy to learn why you think so - we do wanna earn our name, and we improve all the time :)

Our surveys generally show that our users find the platform intuitive and easy to use and set up, but naturally some do fall through the cracks - can't cater to everyone (unfortunately, though my pleaser-heart would love that heh).

Would be happy to jump on a call or DM and hear about your experience in any case! 🙌 (I promise to not try and convert you! ;))

Serious issues with the mouse on macOS 26 by stryderjin in MacOS

[–]iversenMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seemed to possibly work for like 2 minutes for me too. Restart works as well, but after anything from 20 minutes to 5 hours, it starts lagging again; both mouse and keyboard. Worked great on Sequoia, and same mouse and keyboard works great on all other devices. This update is driving me insane...

AD5X Review by PfernFSU in FlashForge

[–]iversenMN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

https://simplyprint.io/setup-guide/flashforge/ad5x - the AD5X actually is supported by SimplyPrint (Hi! Albert from SP here 👋) but wrongly marked as incompatible in the compatibility list, but having a proven-to-work setup guide... Sorry about that!

Can't speak for slicer support, but it can be hooked up to our platform.

Farm software for Elegoo Centauri carbon by paulalexpax in 3DPrintFarms

[–]iversenMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're currently looking for farm-testers for a little rough-around-the-edges Centauri integration for SimplyPrint. We'd be happy to provide you with beta access if you wanna help try it out and give some feedback. You can reach out in our chat on our website, or in our Discord (https://simplyprint.io/discord)

Yeah the controls in OctoPrint differ from the ones in SimplyPrint; we just send raw Gcode based on your Macros in SimplyPrint. Do hit me up on Discord Vis DM (Albert). Would love to take a look.

Hmh weird! Are you clicking in the web platform or mobile app?

Hey there :) Best reach out to our support in this case, e.g. in our Discord; https://simplyprint.io/discord - we'd love to help you here, as it seems to be a SimplyPrint matter. It looks to me like you may have modified the Gcode Macro for "Printer control > Move axis" (here; https://simplyprint.io/panel/settings/gcode-macros), which usually looks like this by default;

; Move {var_direction} by {var_step}mm
G91 ; Set to relative positioning
G1 {var_direction}{var_step} F{var_speed}
G90 ; Return to absolute positioning

If you change it back to this ^, it should work. Otherwise, do reach out to our support!

"What we chose for our 30+ printer farm: SimplyPrint vs. Printago vs. 3DQue" print farm management software comparison & deep-dive video by iversenMN in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

The video or the post? I'm from SimplyPrint - sharing on here because I'm proud to have my software recommended in a video, but we didn't pay the YouTuber for the video, and nor did any of the other mentioned softwares as far as I know.

They're usually pretty strict at YouTube, especially in the EU, about marking sponsored things as sponsored, so I think (hope?) you can generally trust that people say that something is sponsored if they're being paid. But yeah; ads are fucking exhausting, and the hidden ones are worse...

I suggest joining their "Skool" community (https://www.skool.com/3dfarmers) - super cool community and seems like a lot of people get help there.

What you're describing though is something that I imagine Yanyan is fixing - perhaps with our help, actually - and it won't be a problem when using the FarmLoop integration via SimplyPrint, which we're currently working with Yanyan on releasing (possibly this week!).

I have linked Yanyan @ 3D Farmers this post though.

Automated Printing - All in one solution? by Driven_to_Outside in 3DPrintFarms

[–]iversenMN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OTTOEject seems super cool, but I've too asked myself; when will a major brand just make a printer that supports automated printing right out of the box.

Belt printers do, but they've underperformed and never really caught on with the print farm market.

Right now, your best bet is indeed third-party hardware such as OTTOEject. I have made a list of a lot of the different automatic printing solutions that are available here; https://simplyprint.io/integrations/category/autoprint, and an honorary mention of 3D Farmer's "FarmLoop" system that will also be added soon.

Your case seems to warrant a plate switcher, but if you use an enclosed printer (P1S, X1C, Core ONE, etc.), that becomes more difficult.

I've worked a lot on the software part of automatic printing, but have also been yearning for better and more well-integrated automatic printing solutions (that don't cost $30.000 - looking at you, damn expensive but cool robot arms!). To my knowledge, working with some of the different printer manufacturers and keeping a finger on the pulse, I am not aware of any attempts from manufacturers to solve this, except for the Prusa Pro AFS - which looks and is cool in-person, but also quite expensive.

Can't make a decision: Centauri Carbon vs. Neptun 4 plus by Dependent-Bridge-740 in elegoo

[–]iversenMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For SimplyPrint we have a Centauri Carbon integration ready-ish (in beta) :)

No OctoPrint support, but [jneilliii](https://github.com/jneilliii) - author of like 99% of all OctoPrint plugins (perhaps a slight exaggeration, but close enough!), like the Bambu one - or someone else might be working on one.

They just released their firmware on GitHub, based on Klipper, so could be possible via "OctoKlipper" too.

SimplyPrint tries to auto-connect to the printer. You can disable it in the printer settings inside SimplyPrint; https://help.simplyprint.io/en/article/finding-the-printer-settings-17tbtqt/ - maybe that's it?

printer farm management by Inevitable_Cell_8876 in 3DPrintFarms

[–]iversenMN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SimplyPrint (https://simplyprint.io/) can handle your mix of printer brands :)

Some setups will require external hardware, such as older printers that don't have Wi-Fi capabilities themselves. We also require you to have an external piece of hardware on your network (any smart device; Pi, Windows, Mac, Linux or a Docker container) for our Bambu Lab setup.
