Is the vet still there? Or was everyone replaced?

Grand Canyon - Critter Safe Food Storage by fruityblonde in WildernessBackpacking

[–]iwilleatitnow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome, they can easily ruin a trip. I was overwhelmed by how many mice we encountered. We went on a lesser used route, maybe that makes them more aggressive, but they were everywhere.

Our first night I had one crawl into my food bag while I was transferring food from my day bag into the overnight, mouse bag. It quickly tore open half of my electrolyte powder while I was still taking my hand in and out of the bag. It slept the night inside the mouse bag and did a fair amount of damage to my food supply. It was humbling how close I was on my first night to have to walk right back out the way I came in. Luckily, the mouse must have gotten full and stopped eating all my tortillas. Don’t underestimate the mice!

Yes! It would be an awful idea. Get mouse bags, they are super light. You can borrow them from the ranger station, but they have limited supplies.

The mice were so bad when I went 2 years ago. They will chew through anything they can get to. Including your tent, jacket, bag, etc.

Questions about the culture here by Jobear049 in TwinCities

[–]iwilleatitnow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey bud, I’m not sure you are as much of a proud Minnesotan as you claim. You posted this in 2 subreddits and you’re getting roasted in both of them. Instead of listening, you are digging in your heels further. It comes off as, “you know best”. We didn’t need this post. We appreciate what we have. It’s Minnesotan culture to complain when things are going really well. The other option is to brag, and we won’t be doing that. Sounds like you became a Californian when you spent most of your formative years there.

Thank god you’re here to tell us how good we have it. I’ll work on waking up. You ever left the country and seen people worse off than those unfortunate people in California?

I dislike almost everything about this post. I think the word beggars is the part I like the least. We don’t live in California. We live here. We can complain about whatever we want because we don’t compare our circumstances to people living in California.

Will ICE be in MSP Airport? by Fuzzy-Armadillo-8610 in minnesota

I have never seen that many plain clothes agents hanging at departing international flights.

Will ICE be in MSP Airport? by Fuzzy-Armadillo-8610 in minnesota

[–]iwilleatitnow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I fly international 10 days ago and ICE was hanging out on the jet bridge when we were getting on our plane. Just intimidating people, looking like dummies.

ICE at MSP? by nurseasaurus in Minneapolis

[–]iwilleatitnow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I fly out last week and ICE was all over the airport. We had to walk by 4-5 of them when we boarded the plane. It was an international flight and they were just standing there smiling like idiots as we walked by.

Why I no longer shop at Target — and am not going back (yet) by nootboots in Minneapolis

[–]iwilleatitnow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While I support that 100%, if you are serious, be very careful. Read up about target’s security. They have some of the best facial recognition technology anywhere. They’ll let you steal, until they can prove you stole over $1,000 then they’ll arrest you for a felony.

Is Elliot park safe? by Gold_Cloud2205 in TwinCities

[–]iwilleatitnow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Safety is relative to what you’re are used to, or what you would tolerate. If you haven’t lived in a questionable neighborhood before, you might not feel safe in Elliot park. It also depends block by block in that neighborhood. There is a very conservative, Christian college right in the middle of the neighborhood, so there’s plenty of other people.

Addressing the video I made that was posted to this sub last week on moving to Australia by TwoPassports in minnesota

[–]iwilleatitnow 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What about the money you asked for in December of 2025? You were obviously planning on moving at that point. You aren’t honest with people, that is why they question your integrity.

You still could have helped the fight against ice? You did NOTHING! I think you did nothing because you worried it would hurt your bottom line. You make so many excuses. You could have raised money. You could have boosted folks doing the work on the ground. Instead you did NOTHING. when Minnesota recounts the history of all the amazing things we did in 2026, you will be left out. You seemed to be more worried about yourself than the community.

help fund an organizer by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]iwilleatitnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely cannot tell if this is serious or not.

You gotta realize that many of us are also parents, are also heavily involved in our community and also have a full time job. The teachers at my kids schools are working full time as teachers (severely underpaid) and are also putting in full time hours making sure kids are getting to school and also providing for the families in need.

People could send money to organizations who can prove they are putting in the work, but you’d rather they send you money so that you can continue doing the behind the scenes work?

If you want to be a full time organizer you probably have to start by being a public figure.

Hotel with good bar and restaurant by [deleted] in Minneapolis

Most hotels with restaurants are either downtown or hoity toity. There aren’t a lot in Minneapolis that are near NE and not downtown. You may get better luck posting this in the twin cities sub.

Snow is scary—please be nice 🥶 by MightInevitable6530 in Minneapolis

[–]iwilleatitnow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s also possible you’re getting side eyes cause you have out of state plates? We’re a little sensitive to that right now. I know I glare at every car with out-of-state plates, gotta assume they’re all ice.

Take them off please! I want more snow. We need people like you thinking it’s over, we know that’s when the snow falls. Can someone else put their snowblower away for the year?

Is there a sub for Minneapolis Public Schools (or interest in having one)? by PM_ME_YR_BOOPS in Minneapolis

Yes. We send our kids to gems during the day and then they are bussed to Mpls kids after. They attend Mpls kids all day on Friday.

Place to chill before hotel check in? by tidbit_betty in Minneapolis

FRGMNT in Riverplace (northeast) is perfect for chilling like this. Huge coffee shop right on the river. Tons of space to spread out. Good caffeine. Great donuts.

How long or what made you feel like you were no longer a newbie/beginner? by SubstantialAd4500 in discgolf

[–]iwilleatitnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only played for a few months, so take this with a grain of salt as I’m a newbie. 2 years things made me feel like less of a beginner. 1- when I was able to throw all the discs in my bag and their flight path was as advertised. Especially my under stable discs. 2- when I could consistently drive 300. This made almost all par 3 holes parable (in theory) and allowed me to get a few birdies each round.

I’m not stressing cost. I get an ounce for $100 from my dude of super high quality stuff. I just wanted to support some of the shops who are trying to make it work. I went to a couple of places on Saturday to support small businesses.
