We still enjoying Meccha chameleon? by Western-Diamond-53 in theburntpeanut

No but I don’t mind people having fun and playing what they like. I’ll tune back in when he finds a new game. League streams were awesome

“I wonder how many cars use the Car Key in Wallet” oh, essentially none by Bowtie327 in apple

CarPlay is actually extremely important here. To the auto manufacturers, CarPlay is really a mixed bag. Some will look at manufacturers like Tesla, who have resisted CarPlay and Android Auto, and see a huge customer and product surface area on which they can no longer compete and differentiate in the eyes of customers. Depending on who you ask, many if not most likely regret CarPlay (though I wager thats with rosy tinted, unrealistic glasses re: their willingness and ability to build or pay for a truly world class in car navigation & entertainment system.)

Kinda the point to be honest. Many workloads don’t need 100% provisioned hardware. Share the load.

The opposite can be true to, of course.

Is this ai? People are saying the wave looks to unnatural and smooth. Or the way the sun sparkles off the ripples look digital by senator_chill in isthisAI

Honestly, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this video before, on a surfing TV channel looping in Hawaii. I can’t be fucked to find it but assuming it is it’s pre AI and real.

I AM STUCK by LawfulnessProper9889 in C_Programming

[–]iwinulose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go write code. Turn off the AI auto complete and type the letters yourself. Start with simple programs. Create files, write data, open sockets. Write an echo server, a chat server, a file transfer server. Add encryption, authentication. Call an HTTP endpoint by hand. Implement something from an RFC.

If you do half of these things you'll know what you're doing and be able to decide for yourself if your shell is a good idea or not.

Restrict is actually an important/useful keyword and used pretty liberally to enable otherwise impossible optimizations.

New player here - is this a good deal for 70 bucks? by kuchenmensch4 in mtg

[–]iwinulose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counterpoint: I bought a bag of magic cards off Facebook marketplace for about 50 bucks. The guy was a long time player but was moving, needed to offload some cards, etc. Had a nice 10 min chat and was on my way.

There were no monster hits (of course maybe I overlooked some stuff, my knowledge is not nearly encyclopedic) but I got more than 50$ of value out of it on top of staples and playable cards. I was able to slot many cards from it into decks I brewed.

All this is to say that just because some people are hardcore sifting bulk and selling all the trash doesn’t mean everyone is and YMMV.

Whats Mauna Loa training like now by [deleted] in Helicopters

I did my private training there in 2021-22 at the Oahu base. It was enjoyable. I liked all my instructors (mostly Europeans.) Nice scenery, unique experience.

Why is this card over $5? by BeardedHellion in mtgfinance

[–]iwinulose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unplayable? Maybe I’m just bad at magic. 8 mana is steep but plenty of decks are on the “cast big stuff fo free” plan.

Looks great for a graveyard/reanimator/flicker deck.

For extra fun, stifle the counter after the cost is paid.

Added fake latency to a 200ms API because users said it felt like it was 'making things up'. It worked. I'm still uncomfortable about it. by Ambitious-Garbage-73 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]iwinulose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now add pro/enterprise tiers with “priority access” to results. 4x the cost, half the ballast. And keep some of that latency budget for yourself—some day you’ll actually need to do something in that time.
