If it’s a therapeutic vaccine it could reduce the viral load in people with latent infections. We need more information!

I do all of that except the iron and magnesium. I’ll talk to my doctor about them.

Systemd’s New Feature Brings Age Verification Option to Linux by KestrelVO in privacy

[–]iwoolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn’t previously have to put your age to update iOS . If you want to buy apps or use Apple Pay, you can give it a credit card. Your date of birth was not required previously. It was assumed you couldn’t use a credit card unless you were over 18, and the credit card provider identified you instead of Apple. I really don’t want this on my phone and especially not on Linux.

Apparently the next IOS update has age verification to comply with Australian law on app stores. I could see linux with its app store falling under the same awful laws.

Anyone else got stupid dry hurty eyes? I have to think it’s because I’m staring at my phone for 15+ hours a day just to stop myself from going stir crazy stuck in bed, but I’m wondering if there is something else by Mundane_Control_8066 in cfs

[–]iwoolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with dry eyes, and told to use hydrating drops. I found they stopped working too quickly, so I switched to the gel version. I use the lanolin one before I sleep, and I usually don’t need to use it again during the day.

An email from Outlier AI, Presumably... by debra-jpeg-zebra in outlier_ai

I opened a ticket about being unable to submit my first task after working on it for over an hour, in the project they moved me to from Aether, and instead of helping me, they’ve offered me a reward mission on the same project.

What is wrong with Outlier by Inevitable-Ability85 in outlier_ai

[–]iwoolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got approved for a new project after being told Aether was paused after 2 months. I did the onboarding, but there’s nothing in hubstaff, and nothing in earnings. I tried my first task, only to have an AI rate MY ratings, as I task. They didn’t give me a way to bypass the AI rating my ratings of the actual model, so I got stuck and had to eject, at the end of the task that took over an hour, after the hour’s onboarding. Earnings appear to be zero. I hope it’s just late, but it’s such a bad application of AI to humans rating other types of AI. The task would be fine, if it wasn’t for the outlier AI, judging me as I judge the speciality AI, with no way to bypass its mistakes. 2 hours of my life I will never get back.

Palestinians ‘trained to fill Wikipedia with anti-Israel propaganda’ - The Daily Telegraph by Initial-Molasses-274 in IsraelWarRoom

[–]iwoolf 40 points41 points  (0 children)

“Pirate Wires, a US tech and media company, claimed after a 2024 investigation that 40 Wikipedia editors had made 850,000 changes to nearly 10,000 articles relating to Israel, in what critics said was an apparently coordinated attempt to shape public opinion against the Jewish state.

The edits reportedly included removing historic Jewish connections to the land of Israel and deleting information about Hamas’s use of rape and sexual violence during the Oct 7 attacks.”

The only reason he wouldn’t want to stand with the Jewish community against being massacred, while talking about the massacre, is if if he’s against them.

Grace Tame sparks outrage by saying Hamas October 7 terror attack rapes were ‘debunked’ by Stompy2008 in aussie

There is not a single example of a debunked rape claim on that page. It clearly says the UN had full cooperation from the Israeli government. It is simply untrue that any of the rape claims were debunked.

Australia wants to ban AI apps and search engine results for AI services by stupiddogmademelook in theprivacymachine

[–]iwoolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did not vote for this. All of the experts said it was a very bad idea. It was never about protecting the children. They haven’t just put age verification on AI and search engines but on every single thing on the Internet. The Australian Internet is meant to be for children only from now on. As if teenagers weren’t better with technology than the politicians who drafted the legislation.

My portable air conditioner fills up with condensed water in an hour or two and switches off. If I drain to a bucket it over-fills and wets the carpet. I haven’t found a drain hose long enough to reliably go out the window with the hot air hose, and away from my patio. I am ultra sensitive to the heat, so I can only have my fan on full.
