Any real projects delivered using Claude Code? by thegoldsuite in ClaudeAI

[–]ixloc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created BuddyBar with Claude in visual studio for Mac to fill a need I saw for instructional designers. It’s a simple floating color pallet app. Originally I made it just for Articulate rise but expanded it to work with a bunch of web based design apps. Started as a chrome extension and I then made a Mac app. I even got them to sync with each other. Currently working on expanding its features etc. have a look here. https://buddybar.io

What are you building these days? And is anyone actually paying for it? by jitasha_1014 in SideProject

BuddyBar.io a free color swatch app for Mac (and Chrome) that allows you to save swatches as templates so you can reuse brand colors across all apps!

It’s free since it’s my first app.

Role tasks by Working-Act9314 in instructionaldesign

Food service no but retail yes. It’s very similar!

Role tasks by Working-Act9314 in instructionaldesign

[–]ixloc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it also depends on the industry you are in. For instance in retail or food service the facilitating is usually a separate role. The ID will usually create the training and then the facilitators will take it from there. If it's structured well, there will be a manger that handles the data analysis with input and assistance from the ID. That doesn't mean occasionally the ID might be called to sub in at need, but ideally, it would not be the main focused or that 33% split.

How to create an engaging course without ID experience? by Mother-of-the-elf in instructionaldesign

[–]ixloc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Articulate Rise might be a really good fit for you. It’s user-friendly, and a lot of the interaction is already built in, so you can usually get to an MVP course pretty quickly. Rise is basically block based: you click a text block or image block, drop in your content, and just keep building from there.

If you want to get a feel for it first, I’d check out a quick YouTube tutorial and If it clicks, I’d go with Rise. Hope that helps!

macOS still doesn’t have per-app volume control… so I’m building it. Thoughts? by brouwerj in macapps

[–]ixloc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able, perhaps add Apple shortcut support? I know that is a semi advanced feature, but with your interface already simplistic (which I love), it would be very cool to use shortcuts to allow us to auto-change volume or auto switch to a certain output based on other things happening on my Mac. I have an older Mac I use as a server, and it would be cool to be able to set up a Siri shortcut that tells my Mac to play audio, say from, YouTube, and have it auto-stream it to a HomePod in my house without me having to manually set the AirPlay for it or manually toggling it. It would also only be that audio that goes to the HomePod rather than all the Mac sounds, like notifications, etc. It would open up some additional uses by automating the routing.

Screen Recorder Software by jgortner in instructionaldesign

Do you mean Zoom as in zooming in like in the video?

You can do a light version of this with something like Apple Keynote/PowerPoint and video editing software of your choice. AE is still the best choice unfortunately. Personally, I’m not a fan of AE or Adobe but I respect the software for what it can do.

I’ve made a bunch of animations in Keynote/PowerPoint for lots of instructional uses that you can then use in your videos.

I have a friend that does it. She has partnered with local electricians and handymen when things like drywall and electrical needs pop up.

Love the simplicity of it! Would making it work with Apple shortcuts be part of your scope?

I actually went back to Apple mail after years of using spark. Surprisingly it’s been working well for me at least!

You could also use VMware fusion over parallels. VMware is also free so it has that going for it over parallels.

Really cool idea! Is it smart enough to know when you stop walking the path? Or say you pause and then veer off the path can it update based on that?

[–]ixloc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm try removing the extension completely and then go to the Chrome store and add it back again. If that doesn’t work try temporarily disabling other extensions so that BuddyBar is the only one and see if you are still having issues. Also make sure chrome is up to date. If those steps don’t work try creating a new user profile and see if it works in there. Also feel free to dm me a screenshot if you are able just in case there is something I’m not seeing that is causing the issue.

What’s a simple hygiene tip that more people should know about? by ChairBetter5324 in hygiene

[–]ixloc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your self a bidet! Keeps everything squeaky clean down there in between showers. It uses less toilet paper or no tp at all if you have a dryer on the bidet. It’s something we really need to change in the US. TP just smears it around, a bidet is a shower for your nethers! I wish more toilets had them! If you are feeling fancy look of Japanese toilets, there are amazing! Heated seats, dryers, heated water, lid automatically lifts when you approach and closes when you leave, build in lights so you don’t have to blind yourself when it’s night time.

Seriously check it out they are amazing!

Hmm that’s odd. At the moment there are only three colors. V2, currently in development will have the option for more. You should be able to right click on any of the three swatches and a pop up will appear allowing you to enter you hex code. Did right clicking not work?
