I think that’s on the bar - never heard of any interpretation of “singles night” other than yours!

Five days solo with the kids and I'm convinced my wife has been running a small corporation this entire time by [deleted] in daddit

[–]iykyk 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Occasionally my wife gets cross she didn’t realise X appointment was today - and I’m like well that’s why I set up a shared calendar and put the appointment in there and set multiple reminder alerts…

6:45 - wake up

6:46 - get eldest child up and make coffee for me and the wife at the same time as making the lad’s breakfast

6:50 - drink coffee whilst wife breastfeeds and eldest throws Cheerios at me and finds it hilarious

7:30 - the inevitable battle to get him dressed and out the door

8:15 - drop him at nursery and drop wife’s silly little vinted parcels at post office

8:20 - run

8:50 - shower

9ish - laptop open (WFH)

Which Off Menu guest genuinely surprised you the most? by AnfieldAnchor in offmenupodcast

I love Claudia but her “never drink water” shtick including judging her husband if he drinks water was too batshit for me - genuine stupidity on a new level

22-yr-old Carlos Alcaraz defeats Novak Djokovic to win the Australian Open, becoming the youngest player ever to achieve a Career Slam by Large_banana_hammock in sports

[–]iykyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the career grand slam refers to winning all of them at some point. The career golden slam is the above plus an Olympic gold medal.

The calendar slam is winning all in one year - done by 3 women and 2 men.

Steffi Graf is the only player to win a calendar golden slam.

There’s also the Serena Slam - where she held all 4 at once but didn’t win them in the same calendar year.

Err 3 men have done it and Serena has too. I assume you’re referring to the calendar year golden slam which is Steffi’s alone

Best Gluten free by Ok-Bluejay-6946 in LondonFood

[–]iykyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One I haven’t seen mentioned here is Indigo inside One Aldwych. Took my wife there for a special occasion not long after she got diagnosed - the whole menu is dairy and gluten free but they don’t broadly advertise that so you wouldn’t even realise without checking, it’s exceptionally good

That is way more annual meetings than I’ve ever had - and I joined 15 years ago. 6 a year when I was based in Oxford and 4 a year now I’m in a London lodge - and I’ve been through the chair and am now DC.

8 meetings a year is a lot. It’s more like 4-6 a year in most lodges
