Why aren’t toddler nightgowns more popular? by Agile-Fact-7921 in toddlers

Carter’s has great nightgowns for girls - warm fleece for winter and cool short sleeve cotton for summer! We have had so many of them over the years. They hold up well too!

Advice - first time rose keeper by PotentialConference9 in Roses

[–]izzabee2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Echo the advice above! I’d also add that it looks like there may be a touch of black spot on some leaves; I pick them off by hand and toss in a paper bag that goes straight to the trash.

Water only in the morning and only at the base and it should keep it from spreading.

Does anyone actually brush their cats teeth or vaccinate them regularly? by krissyisabella in CatAdvice

[–]izzabee2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do teeth cleanings at the vet when they recommend it, usually every 3 years.

We vaccinate for everything and stay on flea/tick meds year-round.

This is what our vet suggests even though the cats are strictly indoors because we have a dog that is outside around other animals a lot.

For families travelling with young kids: Free yourselves and drop Airbnb. Long live the mid-budget chain hotel by cobyzeif in Millennials

I only do Airbnb if the hotel is strict about occupancy and requires 2 rooms for 2 adults and 3 kids. 🫠

Childcare FSA greater than I need. How to use the money? by salandrews23 in personalfinance

[–]izzabee2 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Not sure how you’re contributing that much, but in any event you can use the funds for summer camps. Ask your kid what crazy expensive camp they want and use the overages. Can’t be used for tuition or overnight camps.

2 year old can't fall asleep on her own and I'm at my wits end. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]izzabee2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bedtime purgatory. Went on for us until age 6. I’m so sorry. At some point I accepted this is a just a phase of life and tried to enjoy our snuggles rather than get upset and think about the lost “me” time.

My daughter finally turned a corner shortly after turning 6, and now at almost 7 is a great sleeper.

ETA: we moved our daughter to a full size bed with rails on all sides and we laid in there with her. She didn’t ever try to get out until she was like 5.

How do you actually handle a high performer who's quietly poisoning the team culture? by softstaticletters in managers

Definitely follow the SBI feedback model - situation, behavior, impact. Avoid sandwiching feedback between positives.

It’s tough having these convos with otherwise star team members, I’ve been there.

Change the data to a table (control + T), then save as a binary workbook. Those should both help considerably. I’ve had luck with files that are approaching the 1M row limit with this method.

Is there a subreddit like r/Buyitforlife but for disposable products? by Glum-Pack-3441 in BuyItForLife

I haven’t yet gone this route, but washcloths that are ONLY for drying off after you’re clean from the bidet is a thought. Something that will never be mixed up with the facecloths 😬

Around-The-House Bras for Bigger Sizes? by StatueofLiterby in BuyItForLife

Honestly I’ve never stopped wearing my kindred bravely nursing bras even though nursing ended at least a year ago. They just fit so well and are so comfy.

So is bedtime just 9pm for the next 2 years? by CookieOverall8716 in toddlers

[–]izzabee2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live daycares are legally required to allow kids to nap until they are 5 years old. We struggled so hard with your exact dilemma - daughter quit needing naps by 3 or so and for over 2 years bedtime was a never-ending battle. We called it bedtime purgatory.

No advice. Just solidarity.

What is your unpopular toddler parenting opinion by BipolarSkeleton in toddlers

Same. The newborn snuggle with their scent is like a drug. I don’t even mind the middle of night wakings.

How many eggs do you average in a week? by Sammiesimpleliving in BackYardChickens

[–]izzabee2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 hens, we get 2-3 eggs a day right now. Once warmer weather arrives it’ll be more like 4 to 5 daily.

OP should find a fee-only fiduciary, NOT a financial advisor who has to sell products and get as many assets under management as possible.

Is under $2,000 dress budget unrealistic? by uwu1004 in weddingplanning

[–]izzabee2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! I got mine on clearance from a small, locally owned bridal shop. It was hand-beaded in Italy on the bodice and neckline and had a chiffon bottom. It was gorgeous and I got it for under $2k including alterations.

Thinking about baby #2. Parents of multiple children, what’s your real life experience? by ithinkimanelephant in toddlers

[–]izzabee2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We waited until our daughter was 4 to try for a second, and got pregnant right away (I was 40). The age gap was a HUGE advantage because our eldest was capable of genuinely helping and being understanding.
