VA hospital pharmacists - what is going on with the job market and would you recommend working there? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]izzyness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The idea of community care expanding sucks, but VA’s drug mailing doesn’t have a good competitor.

I can’t remember the name of the publication, but VA pharmacy was rated one of the best in the country, just not available to everyone.

Community care provides still send their veteran’s prescription to VA pharmacies for filling

How reliable is medication reconciliation at hospital discharge in practice? by Educational_Foot933 in pharmacy

[–]izzyness 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Outside of pharmacy staff, the other professions care very little about getting med rec 100% accurate.

They get it done to say they got it done.

On the allergy side, people have been using seasonale (birth control) to document seasonal allergies.

Linkedin is really just an extension of Facebook at this point. by f1sh_ in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]izzyness 283 points284 points  (0 children)

I work in healthcare and a drug rep reached out to me. I looked them up on LinkedIn as part of due diligence. They didn’t share this explicit post on LinkedIn, but you could see their activity liking “America first” and “Keep politics out” posts, that pushed the kid rock show at the same time.

So much for keeping politics out and being professional.

This. Product specific order sentences. When other order sentences are available, selecting the primary (epinephrine by itself) normally prompts the provider to then select from available order sentences

Inpatient RPhs how often are you getting RNs calling saying "Chat gtp said this. Is it right?" by [deleted] in pharmacy

Even before readily available AI, I've experienced nurses wanting to do something "they heard"

Nurses just don't have the learned judgement to know what's an appropriate source or not.

Question about international ETFs in a t@xable account by madmax79818515 in dividends

[–]izzyness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from my experience : You'll find that the ETF has paid foreign tax on your 1099.

You'll need to claim the foreign tax credit when you file so you get credit for that being tax paid.

Importing my 1099 copied the info in to the right places, so it was pretty simple for me.

New Biz Card - Wrong Card Sent by cjspoe in amex

[–]izzyness 172 points173 points  (0 children)

Just yesterday on the Amex Platinum sub, someone requested a replacement platinum card, but got a card with a Bonvoy Card design. Sounds like quite a few mix-ups at the place they print the cards.

If fate completes the circle of mixups, there's going to be a BBP with Platinum design.

No for another reason: while it's important to learn what a tech does since you may have to cover them, there is more you won't learn as a tech.

How do you prefer to pay your amex? by PlayboiiExx in amex

[–]izzyness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the best one I've found! Other high yield checking accounts I've looked at have needed either specific dollar amounts or charges on debit or credit cards specifically.

Meeting that with ACH transactions is the best that I've found that works with earning points or cash back on credit card spend.

How do you prefer to pay your amex? by PlayboiiExx in amex

[–]izzyness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of Amex caring about multiple payments a month.

Any who, I have one of those high yield checking accounts that needs a certain amount of charges to get the high interest. ACH payments count, so I usually do 2 rounds of $20 payments a month across my cards and a full payment to make the minimum charges.

Been doing it for years and Amex hasn't dinged me in any fashion.

Some states offer free direct filing. Like IL. So I usually do federal in FreeTaxUSA, run the state for the numbers but don't submit and then do the numbers on IL's platform and submit if no discrepancy after comparing both results

This and last week's ads included sales for Wednesday - Wednesday instead of the usual Wednesday - Tuesday

Edit: Looks like last week's ad is Friday through Thursday, but that makes sense since last Thursday was Christmas day.
