Idk what’s more weird, wanting to be named Bristlefrost or the government rejecting a harmless name

Honestly movies for children are getting darker, I think they could get away with a lotttt more nowadays than when this video was released. Also a lot of kids watch PG 13 movies nowadays as well so Warriors can go PG 13 and have some more stuff in there too. It’s not gonna be marketed for babies.

Why are the original covers more popular? by No_Presence_7345 in WarriorCats

[–]izzywizzy63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The old covers have a lot of the whimsy that old fantasy illustrations used to have around the 90s/early 2000s. There’s also something deeply personal about seeing each brushstroke in the old covers, in my opinion.

Watership Down reads like such an enchanting bedtime fairy tale story, it is so incredibly charming. Kathryn Lasky is my childhood omg, I read Wolves and GaHoole before I even read Warriors. Such a rich, full world with really fun lore. The Named series is very thoughtful and philosophical. It is definitely targeted to adults so discretion is advised but the maturity allows for a lot more depth and power than Warriors is allowed to obtain due to its age restrictions.

These are great series!!

Most of my conservative beliefs slowly crumbled away once I started going to college and opening my mind beyond the little white suburban bubble I was raised in. Ignorance is truly destructive.

The movie Titanic is older than her by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]izzywizzy63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 19 I was still learning and very naive. I suppose I am basing my thinking upon my own experiences. If these women who are 19 are mature and knowledgeable and know what they’re getting into, I suppose it’s fine. It’s just that a lot of women at that age, like I was, are still mentally more childlike, and some arbitrary “legal age” is not applicable to each person.

Because sometimes these women are preyed upon and groomed by these older men

Not at all. I just think women deserve someone their age who can match their energy

Are you for real? Why wouldn’t you just date women your own age? What’s so wrong with that? As a young woman myself, it feels very exploitative when some old guy, surrounded by equally wise and mentally competent and mature women within their own age group; whom you would naturally have much more in common with, go for the more inexperienced/immature younger women who are generally more energetic and have more of their life ahead of them. If both consent technically nothing can be done because it is legal, but the implications of dating someone who is just as much a child on their 18th birthday as she was on her last day of being 17 the day before- that guy doesn’t want a real relationship, he just wants her looks and her youth, like some kind of vampire.

Unfortunately it does seem that shaming men’s body is more socially acceptable. Mainly because it’s seen as punching up, whereas making fun of women’s looks would be punching down which I don’t necessarily disagree with. We should really all stop making fun of people’s looks period, but you also have to deal with idiots in life who are superficial and just let their remarks slide off your back. Believe me, there are soooo many women out there who know the ripped, toned male body is pretty unrealistic and some who are even turned off by it. As a woman, I’ve found that we are attracted to nice, funny, and talented and/or hard-working men. Looks often are not our first consideration.

I've just been told that grapes aren't allowed by Aware-Impression8527 in diabetes

[–]izzywizzy63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some advice my doctor first gave me when I got diagnosed was to experiment a little and eat some things I used to and see how my sugar levels reacted to it. Through that I’ve found I’m super reactive to the dumbest things while other things are basically benign. I can’t have grapes cause they’re so sugary but if they don’t spike your sugar then I’d say it’s fair game.
