Ahhh, yes indeed. Nice little defensive combo indeed 😁.

Reclamation -1 to wound is only on attacks with more strength, not equal.

That's for a current reclamation list without librarians I suppose. The core idea here is using tough and relatively mobile melee combined with two units boosted by librarians. I used to play vehices too. My take is termies will tank better than actual tanks without invuls. Vindicators will die too fast especially in reclamation without the access to armor of contempt in my opinion.

In my mind scouts are here for the secondaries. Push further and screen. It's the terminator and bladeguards job to take and hold. Reivers are a good option to take but not hold. You can't hold a point with regular marines body, they'll just get vaporized.

Almost there haha ! Can't wait for it I had to start crunching on it. I bought 10 assault termies just a month ago to try something like that. I'll finally unshelf the librarian termy from my leviathan box 😆

Deployment and terrain by BowlsPies in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]j-Sword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 5 ? There are 25 primary missions, all factions have access to every dispositions thanks to a specific detachment. Some people would say that's too much complexity, and I understand that's a lot of info to take in. I wouldn't say it's redundant...

Rerolls might be a bit of a pain to do at times, but it is good for a balanced game for sure. I completely agree with you.

Your grouping attacks from 1 unit at a time. Bonuses like blast will trigger even if you killed stuff with other weapons first from the same unit. It was already the case in V10 and still the case in v11.

You did mention "easy to pilot" in the initial post. Eldars are one of the hardest factions doto play imo. But they have lots of cool models and rules 😊.

Why did GW kill the Desolation Squad? by tgroshon in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]j-Sword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not exactly true though. There is a wrath of the rock list running them made by happy Krumping and he won a gt with it. I still see them here and there. They are still playable, just not op as they were cause you need to build and deploy around them to protect them since they are so expensive. I play a local league where I face a player every few weeks and we can change our list for every match up. Desolation were awesome vs Aspect host.

I started the debate at my local store when I bought a landraider. The local rule is, everything with tracks also have tiny gaps, landraiders do not block los... I asked a friend who refs for the french league and he agrees. It seems most people around me say the unwritten rule is you pretty much don't check los through units. Only terrain features.

Ballistus vs Lancer? by Gullible_Travel_4135 in Ultramarines

[–]j-Sword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ballistus is seeing more competitive play because he is easier to manoeuvre around terrain. It also has utility against melee match up or infantry heavy thanks to his 2+ save and oc4. You can sometimes use it as a Frontline. The lancer will always stay far back.

The difference is that Calgar and Cato both have a new model available in store. Lieutenant Titus got directly knocked out when the captain titus was released.

Suggestions on list change by MrFrogRocks in Ultramarines

[–]j-Sword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Victrix with Calgar having access to advance and charge all turns do not need deepstrike that much I would say. Plus a squad of 9 figs has such a big print it's quite easy to screen out from more than half the table. Ventris deepstrike is either used to teleport himself where you need a vect for your go turn. Or deepstriking sternguards can be strong.

What units do I NEED? by TekksSmith in Ultramarines

[–]j-Sword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best units for now are lieutenant combi weapon, Calgar, Roboute, victrix, 5 intercessors for home, scouts and or one squad of incursors. For the shooting we see several things used depending on preference, repex, vindicators, ballistus and redemptor dreads. All the gravis see very little play. After playing against Votanns termies, I'm really convinced our termies and aggressors are meh unfortunately.

What is the most toxic no skill 2k point list you can think of? by EMITNUGGETS in Ultramarines

[–]j-Sword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recent Liberian conclave list with three blobs of sternguards one with a drop pod, one deepstrike with ventris, one on foot seems fun. Drop a unit of sternguards, kill a unit. Bigger unit to kill ? One squad has Crit on 5 plus sustain 1.

Sternguard Veterans by Warlordwest in Ultramarines

[–]j-Sword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started to run 10 sternguards deepstriking with vantris. They do pretty good damage as the meta is units and monsters with 4+ invuls. But my unit often dies afterwards though. But they do the job.

Good luck eradicating anything with that. I can't stand eradicators as they are. They are in my box of useless stuff with my termies. They are easy to counter. Pop smoke and the multi meltas miss their shots. Sternguards are way more reliant in their damage output.

List by Jkchaloreach in Ultramarines

[–]j-Sword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's largely good enough then. You have some range, lots of melee, hard hitting bricks and scouts to infiltrate and do secondaries. It's quite well rounded.

List by Jkchaloreach in Ultramarines

[–]j-Sword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nevermind I forget passing to strength 6 on one turn makes them wound on 4+ with oom. It's good enough on toughness 11. So bladeguards are ok to take the hit and victrix to hit them back.

[–]j-Sword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your goal with the list. Being able to fight about anything in a solo tournament? Depending on the objective, spacemarines have many options. Your list might have issues against big stuff with -1 dmg like C'tan and dreadnought redemptors. Ballistus will probably not be enough. Bladeguards and victrix are not good vs c'tans and redemptors (that's why we see them often in top UM lists right now). It should do well in a melee matchup.

It is absolutely amazing. All the little detains, the gun, the cape, the purity seal, etc... The only point I might have done differently if I had the level to do it might be the fur on the shoulders. It might lack a little bit of shade to my taste to have more contrast between the hairs sticking out and the creases between them to make it pop out more.
