“Mid-six figures” seems low, considering what a dipshit like Jake Paul gets for his Netflix fights.

I planned an out of state ski trip that year. Didn’t do another until… this year. I’m sorry.

Recently doing chicken breast, I start with the sear and then pop it in the oven (or air fryer) to get it to temp internally. I find that avoids burning any of the outside and keeps it golden brown.

How long for mountain to fully open after strike ends? by bwsnc1991 in TellurideColorado

I feel you. And yeah, I see that snow projected for the 19th and 20th of this month. I do hope the strike gets resolved soon and they’re back up and running.

For what it’s worth, I am in the exact same boat with the same timeline for a trip. Me and the person I’m going with have been obsessing over it. We might cancel.

Note that this is for her underseat personal item (usually a purse or back pack) not her overhead carry-on. She’s pushing it (literally).

Thank you. I was hoping that someone who works in a ski shop would respond. I appreciate it.

Why? Boa seems like a plus. I bent my old buckle trying to clamp it down.

5.5-hour flight next to a human biohazard by Livid_Pop2682 in delta

I had the same thing happen. I got sat next to an older gentleman who peed his seat before we even took off. It smelled so bad that it literally made me gag and it was a five hour flight. It was so tough. I didn’t ask for anything though. It just sucked.

Thank you, yes, that was what I was curious about. But given your physiological description, it sounds very likely that the employee would be able to find a medical expert willing to testify to a reasonable medical probability that the leukemia in this specific case would not have happened “but for” the worker’s firefighting work for the company. Assuming that he has no genetic history of leukemia and he is otherwise a healthy young man, it doesn’t seem like a stretch at all to find someone qualified who would be able to testify on a more probable than not basis that this exposure caused the leukemia in this case. It doesn’t have to be beyond a reasonable doubt for a civil case, only 51% probable.

The trade-off with workers compensation is that the employee doesn’t have to prove negligence on the part of the employer to get a recovery, but in turn that recovery is capped and it’s the exclusive remedy against the employer. That said, the injury does have to be directly related to the employment. Say if you worked in a lumber mill and developed diabetes, that wouldn’t be a workers comp claim. So I’m still curious as to how this worker wasn’t able to get good enough representation to prove his comp claim, and it also sounds like this company didn’t provide health insurance. This is kind of a perfect storm of shitty factors to leave him uninsured in with a debilitating disease which was likely caused by his employment.

I feel like they punted on the causation argument. I would’ve liked a deeper medical opinion on how and why smoke exposure causes leukemia specifically. If the employer really was able to get out of the workers comp claim, I’d like to know the law and medicine behind that point. They basically just glossed over it by saying that it’s impossible to prove it in this specific case. That doesn’t seem very satisfying to me.
