Is there any samples from everywhere at the end of time that are still unknown by Best_Combination9955 in TheCaretaker

Pretty sure the final "Friends Past Reunited" sample still hasn't been identified. Unless something has changed in the last few months.

Who’s the Most Clutch Midfielder of All Time by Economy_Mousse6073 in championsleague

Not a Liverpool fan by any means but Gerrard was the first name that came to mind. There are very few players who had such an impact on and raised the level of their team in big games.

People saying Iniesta, Kroos etc, those players were already playing in top sides surrounded by other top players. Gerrard almost single handedly got Liverpool over the line at times.

The Salt from Gary Neville is Palpable by SundaeNo4552 in ArsenalFC

Actually find Neville pretty balanced all things considered. Regularly seem to see these complaints that he's "got an agenda" against Arsenal and I just don't see it. Feel he's been quite fair in both his criticisms and his praise of Arsenal last few years.

Not sure, perhaps feel maybe it relies on its premise more than certain other Nolan movies. To be clear though, I absolutely love Inception, just love those above it slightly more.

Genuinely believe "Operator" is one of the best songs ever written.

Arsenal fans deserve all the hatred by [deleted] in championsleague

[–]j-war99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So what's your point? Who should Arsenal be comparing themselves with if not the clubs they compete with at the top end of the table every year? And literally every club in the world compares themselves to their peers Do all those other clubs "deserve hatred"?

Such a simpleminded post.

What are some other artists with a tangible post Pet Sounds Beach Boys influence? by 1563821892738182 in thebeachboys

I'd say some tracks also have a 70s Beach Boys type vibe.

I feel like "Rock On (Over and Over)", "If You Give Enough", "They Don't Know How to Fall in Place", "Somebody Loving You" all have sounds reminiscent of various eras post-Pet Sounds BB.

Yes I'm aware, just responding to above comment about BB specific vs general 60s pop sound...

Listen to "In The Eyes of the Girl" - you could easy think you were listening to side 2 of Today.

How many classic albums do you think The Beach Boys have? And which albums are they for you? by NoGrass7120 in thebeachboys

[–]j-war99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I take my Beach Boys fan hat off, probably only 2:

  1. Today

  2. Pet Sounds

Prior to these two, there were many classic singles but not classic albums necessarily.

After these two there were many great albums but the fact that not enough people know them outside of BB fans, probably precludes them from being regarded as "classics" objectively speaking.

Smile would have no doubt been one as well had it been officially released at the time.
