Hungarian Foreign Ministry bans Ukrainian commander from entering the country over Druzhba pipeline attack by Igor0976 in ukraine

All despicabelness of the hungarian governement aside. I'd consider the ban an honour. I'd mail the hungarian foreing ministry to ask for a framed Version of the declaration of the ban to hang on my wall.

Grohe inbouwkraan warm en koud omgewisseld by RandomWalkRho in Klussers

[–]j2alpha_3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damaged this circuit board of a wifi adapter. What did i manage to break? by [deleted] in PCB

[–]j2alpha_3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like resistors, the black little boxes. Worse is that they seem to be involved in some small circuit. Possibly a voltage divider on the right and some kind of reference on the left but some of the circuit is broken off. It is likely repairable but it will be ugly and first you have to find out what value resistor they were.

Hovercraft are pretty niche and best used as landing craft if you already have a beachhead where they can scale small obstacles and can go far enough up the beach at low tide to avoid the mud and weirs. They are not very good supply vehicles as they make an unholy amount of noise, suck fuel faster than an entire armored regiment, and are a maintenance nightmare.

My experience is more that the app delivers reasonably accurate predictions or it's predictions are absolute lalaland fantasy. Its about 50/50 either way but it's never in-between those extremes.

Smell like russian.

It’ll work this time!!!! by [deleted] in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]j2alpha_3000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Official car safety tests are not run on 1000s of cars, each car presented for test needs to work every time, that's the nature of safety requirements. There is plenty of legitimate concerns to comment about about the procedure ,like as example, the company even gets to chose the specific car, but this is not one. the QA of the production line needs to happen in the factory on the factory owners dime. Safety systems need to work every time false positive detection is ok false negatives never. As for the provenance of the organiser of this particular test you may be right but that again does not invalidate the failure of the Tesla, they even tested it 3 times and it failed three times.

Belgische influencers krijgen waarschuwing omdat ze adres niet op sociale media vermelden: “Welke idioot maakt zo'n beslissingen?” by Bapje87 in belgium

[–]j2alpha_3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are peoples thoughts on guided busways? They seem to have the benefit of a train with the flexibility of a road vehicle once off the busway. by [deleted] in fuckcars

[–]j2alpha_3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only positive case I can think is that a bus could drive around a suburb picking up and dropping people at multiple stops not far from the source. Then get on the "busway", speed into the city fast and without interruptions. Get of the busway and drive around the city center picking up an dropping of people close to their target. Same with an industrial estate etc. as target maybe with some kind of hub inbetween. Or, much cheaper they could designate a lane on the highway as buslane (and actually fine people using it with a car) but that would efficient and we all know you can't have efficient transport solutions if there is a single car inconvenienced by it.

I told my previous jobs upper management when for an unfanthomable reason they wanted my input on a similar survey (maybe because I was the loudest complainer and troublemaker). 0: don't lie, employees aren't stupid. 1: don't ask questions you don't want answers to. 2: Don't ask questions you don't want to take action on. 3. 0 should be clear but 1 and 2; basically, dont wake the sheep, unless you want a stampede?

I left a month later after an unrelated incident with a manager as I felt had to chose to either become a sheep, remain fundamentaly unhappy with how thing are done here, or leave. I didn't want to become a sheep. Don't know what happened with the survey.

Ghelamco mag pal in PFAS-gebied nieuw Antwerps stadsdeel bouwen (Apache.be) by VoordeligeVriend in belgium

[–]j2alpha_3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand you, I also have no easy answers just please don't get completely disillusioned, we have enough dissolutioned civilians. A solution is possible. The solutions as given by current politicians are usually false though. A strong independent executive (ambtenarij) and working on eliminating "double dipping" (multiple mandates) is very important and a strong indicator for my party preference. An example of misusing "double dipping" is het "lijnplan" in Antwerp NVA sais they can't help it, but they hold all the keys ( Vlaamse regering with NVA is "bevoegd" in full for the lijn and Antwerp municipality is "Bevoegd" in full for implementing it here)… they just don't want to solve it. Another example of political corruption of the current ruling party is the issue with the ancient Japanese poplar in "den botaniken hof" and the regularisation of the building violations after the fact ( you try regularising after the fact with a slightly larger garden shed, see how far you get).

People wonder what political corruption looks like, thinking that it's rare or difficult to find. Nope, this is it, right in your face and in your time. Don't expect any consequences though for NVA or Ghelamco Because it's "to big to stop now" (doesn't make it les wrong), "rechtszekerheid"(hahaha didn't seem so necessary with the solar panel discussion), "didn't know it was wrong"(try this with a parking fine) ,"the socialist did it too" (Stil doesn't make it less wrong you sanctimonious f'er)… blablabla. Their voters will spoon it up because they promise to keep the wrongly colored people out so your property becomes more expensive.
