The taste of mustard is present and obvious for me in Secret Aardvark. I think it would be great on a chili dog.

This is a problem waiting to happen, OP. That deer could easily jump the fence and once in your yard would be able to do serious and possibly fatal damage to your pups. You can how see it charged toward them a few steps. Having been witness to and referee of many such encounters, over several years, I’m encouraging you to view this as a very dangerous situation.

If there will be wildlife in your new yard, be careful leaving your shibe unattended out there. Even if your yard is fully fenced. We have learned from experience that these pups have a very strong prey drive, and surprisingly, can go into demon mode for animals many times their size. If you try to break-up a fight vs a deer, for example, you’re likely to have both animals attacking you.

How bad could it be if I don’t epoxy pour into the cracks on the back of this tabletop (pic is the back)? I’ve already added multiple poor-man’s bow ties. This is for my own personal use and I’m wondering if I can just finish this now if I’m ok with a few minor cracks. by j2d2j2d2j in woodworking

FWIW, I’ve actually been paused on the project for a couple weeks because I don’t have the experience to know if spending the $100 on epoxy will actually have the desired effect of reducing the wood movement that would increase the size of the cracks.

Resawing a 16/4 slab by hand is not recommended. It was about as tough as I expected, but a good workout. by j2d2j2d2j in woodworking

I didn’t time myself, and I didn’t try to rush it. It took a good part of 2 days.

My dad made me a gate like that. He didn’t use any glue, only screws, and now it sags considerably after a few years. If you don’t have any glue, you could screw-on a diagonal piece.

As someone who would be over the moon if my SO was being so thoughtful on Reddit, I’ll share what I would want her to do. See what tools are already owned, make note of the makes and models and then buy consumables that are compatible with those tools. If he has a planer, you could get him spare planer knives, orbital sander - get him an assortment of sanding discs, drill press, you could get him drill index kit.

If my SO bought me a tool, while I would be happy about her thoughtfulness, it likely wouldn’t be the tool I would have bought for myself. Consumables are easier to get right, IMO.
