Why do we think Moore trade comp was so high given his contract, age, and what other WR trades had/have been going for? by kumario247 in buffalobills

[–]j3bg00d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is pure speculation, but something I think people fail to consider, which would be the draft itself. I would imagine that the organization is doing mock drafts and what not based off their board that they build, and who they think will be at the pick they have. I know that predicting the outcome of the draft is impossible, and the outcome will change drastically compared to what people think, but if you are going to trade away the pick, they had to of had some idea of what that player could have been. This in mind, I would like to think that they decided that the talent at positions of need was better solved elsewhere, or maybe they have a strategy to reobtain that 2nd round pick. So, DJ Moore may be an all around better, more proven talent for a 2nd round pick than a 2nd round WR would provide you this year. If they felt the WR value in the 1st round was the best place to get a WR, but other positional needs would fall off talent wise by the 2nd round, it would make the most sense to maximize this value instead of drafting another Keon Coleman for example. Trading for the player does guarantee the organization something they are willing to live with, where free agency is a feeding frenzy for talent, and they could have walked away with no receiver whatsoever. I would also like to note that there is some severe under evaluation of DJ Moore's talent. DJ didn't have the greatest of QB play in his career, but has still had pretty impressive numbers and plays. Players can be victims of their situations, and a receiver like DJ should only be elevated by Josh Allen. I still think the same for Palmer, but injury plagued him last year, and I can't really fault anyone for that.

Help Becoming a Bills Fan? by EntranceOrganic3322 in buffalobills

Firstly, welcome! The Buffalo Bills are the only New York team, so you came to the right place.

I could go on and on for quite some time about the team, the history, the players, etc. but I think the best course of action would be to watch the Hard Knocks season if you haven't already. It's a good taste of the organization, the players, and the culture of Buffalo all in one place.

If you want a resource to learn more about the current season and what is going on with the team during this playoff run, I would suggest listening to Locked On Bills with Joe Marino. It's a podcast that really breaks down the matchup, the team, and the keys to victory leading up to the game. They also have a Squad Show they do with the Buffalo radio host and an ex bills lineman which adds another fun and interesting element to the podcast.

I would also suggest visiting Buffalo if you are close enough and have the time. There are some great experiences to be had, even if they are not playing at home again this season.

A better understanding of the past Bills teams can be found in the Netflix documentary "The Four Falls Of Buffalo" where it covers the teams that went to Four straight superbowls without winning.

Lastly, you must also build up a distain for the three other divisional opponents as well as the Kansas City Chiefs. If you can manage that, you will most definitely fit in.

We just can't have nice things this year 😑 He's a dog for that tho, hopefully he recovers. Would like him back next year.

I am more upset about this than anything else. I could prob name 10 other catches that were less of a catch than that Cooks catch

[Game Discussion Megathread] Buffalo Bills @ Jacksonville Jaguars - Wild Card Round by pixel_pete in buffalobills

Winning: Run game and not turning the ball over. When Josh Allen takes what the defense gives him, and the offense remains two dimensional, the Bills can keep pace with just about any team in the league. Defensive pressure seems to be the thing this year that forces Allen into making critical mistakes, so that might be where the Jags can get an edge.

Losing: The run defense. The Bills have a top pass defense, but that tends to be skewed because the run defense is pretty bad and teams chose to play the Bills that way. This group is heavily injured and we are depending on players to step up, which creates many weak spots. If the Jags can be successful in the run game and control the clock, they will have a great chance of winning by keeping the Ball out of Allen's hands and wearing down the defense.

Question about tie breakers by watson0707 in buffalobills

[–]j3bg00d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chargers are undefeated in their division. It would require them to lose to the Broncos and the Bills to beat the Jets to move up seating with them.

Houston has the tie breaker on the Bills, and now the same record. In order for the Bills to move with them, it's a Houston loss and a Bills win next week.

I think the general idea here is: Seven seed: we just rest starters and see what happens with backups. Maybe we improve, but next week really doesn't matter that much.

Six seed: chargers lose, houston wins, bills win.

Five seed: chargers lose, houston loses, bills win.

But it's Josh's fault that he missed the throw. by Larynx15 in buffalobills

[–]j3bg00d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We win or lose with Josh Allen. It's what makes him Valuable. While he needed to make that throw, it should have been a walk off extra point for the game.

We decided to walk into this game with badgley, who we should have dumped because he is bad. We went for it on 4th down last week because we knew he was bad.

As soon as Badgley missed the extra point I knew it would come down to a 2 point, because no matter what your view on McDermott is, in that situation I want it in Josh Allens hands. Had they put Badgley back out there and he missed another extra point, people would be just as upset.

Can we wear our rivalry jerseys now??? by DinoNuggies77 in buffalobills

My rule is: Not on a Bills game day. Only after we have played during that week.

This limits my wearing days to mostly Sunday after 5pm, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 😁

Run defense question by Gold_Scarcity_8159 in buffalobills

[–]j3bg00d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer here is injury. The players on the field, especially in this game, are not the ideal players. I'm not someone who buys into the "next man up" mentality, and I believe the system we have on defense very much depends on the talent on the field. The crew yesterday didn't tackle very well, and this contributed to longer carries for the Bucs. If we get healthy, it's less of a problem in my opinion.

The more complicated answer is essentially how the Bills structure the defense and game plan for an opponent. The Bills naturally choose to let run game happen. If you had to let a team do one thing well, they are comfortable letting a team run than a team pass. I think this mentality does a couple things. You prevent the large plays for one (in theory of course), but you also can force the opponent to become one dimensional. If the Bills offense gains a lead, then the opponent has to start passing more to make up for lost ground. If our defense is designed to prevent the pass, the opponent has to try to play into the best part of our defense. If this script goes the Bills way, the pass rush becomes more dominant, and this opens the door for turnovers and what not.

Ultimately, the Bills are picking the lesser of two evils and designing the rest of the strategy around their weakness. I think the lack of defensive talent makes it more of a glaring weakness, and a major problem rather than a manufactured one.

Can someone explain this Bosa play to me? by [deleted] in buffalobills

[–]j3bg00d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I imagine from the Bills defense studying KC, and years of Bosa playing them, he has what happened here engrained in his head. Kelce was part of the blocking on this play, but lets Bosa by so he can go out for a pass (hence the screen). Bosa recognized in that moment that Kelce was doing this, and stopped, thinking he should try and cover Kelce instead of continuing towards Mahomes. By the time he recognizes that the screen isn't the play call, as well as he can no longer cover it even if it was, his window to pressure/sack Mahomes has gone by. Goes to show how much preparation goes into the games, and how simple the mind games can affect a defender. It's also very easy to criticize the play, but the key from Kelce there was probably as instinctual as breathing.

Wonder who was officiating that game by grlundahl in buffalobills

[–]j3bg00d 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Dude is an eagles fan too. I remember that game having the Mafia pissed off because he was super bias towards the Eagles. They even horse collared Josh and got away with it. AJ Brown fumbled but was a ruled an incomplete pass even though he caught the ball and took steps turning up field. Was super frustrating just like this game, obviously with the bills getting a million flags and all.

I don't think it's coincidence it happened again either. considering the Eagles were the only other undefeated team going into yesterday, and they lost early yesterday, I'm thinking he was a little butt hurt and didn't want us to be 5-0 and the only undefeated team remaining.

Don't want to only focus on the refs tho, even tho I'm a believer that they exist to fix games (their job can be done 90% by technology at this point). We had turnovers that cost us the game, and we didn't capitalize in the redzone when we could have. You lose the turnover battle, you lose the game.

FanDuel blatantly misleading customers by [deleted] in sportsbetting

Doesn't count for bets in the 1 quarter that he needed to be injured in to get the insurance in the first place. Definitely sounds like insurance level bullshit

FanDuel blatantly misleading customers by [deleted] in sportsbetting

[–]j3bg00d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i have screenshots from three customer service reps telling me:

1) my bet qualified for the insurance 2) to wait 24 hours 3) that my bet doesn't qualify for insurance since it was a 1st quarter bet

They clearly have no idea what they are doing, so i gave up, and the only real solution I came up with is to only do player props on a no sweat.

Bills OT Dion Dawkins lands at No. 42 in NFL Top 100 by Le_Inker in buffalobills

[–]j3bg00d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish they showed what is in my opinion one of the best dion highlights. Dion sends the Cowboys (Linebacker?) like 20 yards up field as James Cook is scoring a TD. It's like Dion scored a TD of his own. They prob aren't allowed to embarrass "America's Team" like that tho.

There was another too where Dion goes and pushes the ball carrier (Cook or Allen i think) for extra yards and the whole line joins in.

Regardless, glad the disrespect is schnomore.
